Recap by phillip woo
After chasing the speed wide without cover, even-money favourite Beauty Waves just got up to deny Youthful Spirits for a second straight course and distance win following a stable change. He should remain in the grade and can win again. Youthful Spirits wouldn't go down without a fight after turning the final bend two lengths on top. He should be saluting shortly after two solid runs following a switch to the Valley 1,000m. Super Fortune kept on well for third after pressing the pace early on from a tricky gate. It was a return to form trying the Valley 1,000m for the first time and he probably enjoyed the sting out of the ground. Harmony Fire stayed on well to just miss a placing without having much go right after a prominent run following a tardy start. He had an excuse. Heroic Master came from near last to finish next best. Happy United beat one from the rear of the field. He does appear from his past three starts to be on his mark. First starter Majestic Express had his chance but peaked on his run 150m out following a rails run from midfield.
