Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Sunlight Power kept on gamely despite being left without cover travelling midfield from the 900m for a second straight win from 10 starts. He's really come into his own and should remain competitive up in grade off a light weight. The Absolute kept on nicely for second after working forward three-wide to sit second 900m out from gate 14. It was another good run after being gelded following a second-up win. Foolish Heart stayed on well for third after a handy run one off with cover. He's a winner waiting to happen if he stays in Class Four. Super Wise Dragon weaved a run for fourth after travelling near the inside from behind midfield. It was nice effort off an 88-day break. Fast Victory made some ground without threatening after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's shown improvement in his past two of seven local runs. Noble Win made up heaps of ground late from last after nearly dislodging his rider at the jump. He's not easy to get right.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight : (510) - SHEK NGA SHAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 FOOLISH HEART (J054) K C Leung Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.

Horse No 2 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.

After the 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind LUCKY GOLD and leaving the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of LUCKY GOLD to obtain clear running.

When being shifted to the outside of LUCKY GOLD, that runner was then taken out by FAST VICTORY which resulted in JUMBO FORTUNE being held up and carried out across PERFETTO, resulting in PERFETTO having to be steadied away from NOBLE WIN.

Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when racing tight between LUCKY GOLD and NOBLE WIN which shifted in.

Horse No 4 THE ABSOLUTE (H438) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 SUNLIGHT POWER (H244) H Bentley From the 900 Metres raced wide and without cover.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 FAST VICTORY (H393) B Avdulla In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance after the 1100 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from FOOLISH HEART.

Noted to have sustained a small abrasion to the right hind fetlock after the race.

Horse No 7 INVINCIBLE LUCKY (J119) Z Purton After the race, Z Purton advised that his instructions were to take up a forward position from a wide barrier.

He said in the early stages he was obliged to make use of his mount to cross runners to his inside and as this was only INVINCIBLE LUCKY's third race start, it was not able to finish the race off due to the use that he had to make of it in the early stages.

Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions issued and stated that he issued such instructions as he had placed blinkers on the horse today and so as to offset the wide barrier.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of INVINCIBLE LUCKY was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.

Before being allowed to race again, INVINCIBLE LUCKY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 8 PERFETTO (G198) M F Poon After the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded between NOBLE WIN and JUMBO FORTUNE.

Horse No 9 STORM WINNER (J069) B Thompson Near the 150 Metres when being shifted to the outside of SUGAR BALL raced greenly before being corrected by its rider B Thompson.

Then had some difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages when positioned to the inside of COOL BLUE.

Horse No 10 VANTASTIC CHOICE (G401) Y L Chung Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 LUCKY GOLD (G112) M Chadwick From the 800 Metres raced wide and without cover.

Approaching the 250 Metres was bumped by FAST VICTORY which shifted out slightly.

Horse No 12 SUPER WISE DRAGON (G475) K De Melo Jumped only fairly.

After being shifted to the inside of COOL BLUE in the early part of the Home Straight was then steadied near the 300 Metres when crowded between SUGAR BALL and COOL BLUE which shifted in slightly.

Horse No 14 NOBLE WIN (H195) A Hamelin On jumping blundered and then became badly unbalanced, resulting in its rider A Hamelin also becoming unbalanced and losing his left rein and NOBLE WIN losing ground.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
