Favourite Beauty Charge charged strongly to take control in the closing stages after biding his time wide with cover from behind midfield. It was a fourth career win and second from four starts over the Valley 1,200m. He put the writing on the wall following a luckless fourth last start. Punted late, Tomodachi Kokoroe stayed on nicely to finish a close second after settling one out, one back. It was another fine effort carrying 13 pounds more following a win. Wonder Kit stayed on well for third after settling in the box seat with money for him late in betting. It was another honest performance. Gummy Gummy kept on gamely for fourth after rushing forward four wide to eventually find a spot one off the rail 750m out. He's racing well on both surfaces without winning. Majestic Knight grudgingly gave way after leading from gate seven. He does appear form his past three starts to be on his mark following a win in January. Copartner Ambition produced only a grinding effort after travelling one off the fence in midfield. He couldn't hold his own in a higher grade.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine : (502) - SOKO ISLANDS HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 SEASONS WIT (H223) Y L Chung Bumped shortly after the start and became unbalanced.

In the early and middle stages raced keenly and near the 900 Metres was steadied away from TOMODACHI KOKOROE.

When questioned, Apprentice Y L Chung stated that approaching the winning post he was positioned close to the heels of TOMODACHI KOKOROE and as a result did not push his mount out over the final stride of the event.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of Apprentice Chung, 7th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.

Horse No 2 BUNDLE OF CHARM (G213) A Hamelin Jumped awkwardly.

Near the 300 Metres was bumped by BON'S A PEARLA when that runner shifted out to improve.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 TOMODACHI KOKOROE (H303) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 BEAUTY CHARGE (G231) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 BON'S A PEARLA (G449) A Badel After travelling a short distance was crowded between WONDER KIT and SEASONS WIT.

Bumped at the 300 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

Before being allowed to race again, BON'S A PEARLA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 9 COPARTNER AMBITION (E218) H Bentley After the race, H Bentley reported that from a wide barrier he was obliged to make some use of his mount in the early stages.

He added that COPARTNER AMBITION was obliged to race wide until near the 600 Metres and finished the race off reasonably well.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, COPARTNER AMBITION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
