Recap by phillip woo

General Ace dashed well to overhaul Viva A La in the final few metres for the win after a patient ride in third last from a middle draw. It was his maiden success. Plunged late, Viva A La settled wide with cover behind midfield and found one too good after surging to the lead 50m out. The step back in distance nearly worked the oracle. Tactical Command ran on nicely along the inside to fill a placing after biding his time one from the rear. He relished both a step back in distance and a gear change to blinkers. Super Elite held onto fourth after tracking the speed one off the fence. He relished a return to the course and distance of a near win on his penultimate run. Wind Speeder ran on without threatening after travelling one off the fence behind midfield. He's not easy to get right. Favourite Great Days was stopping passing the 100m after dictating the pace from gate one. The quick back up and switch in venues failed to pan out. Goodmanship was disappointing after travelling in the box set. Happily Friends will sleep well after a prominent run wide without cover from gate nine.
