Race Five : (383) - LUARD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 2 NOBLE PURSUIT (H324) H Bowman Near the 1300 Metres was steadied away from ATOMIC BEAUTY (H Bentley) which shifted in when not clear.
H Bentley was advised to exercise more care.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SNOWALOT (E397) K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 SUPER BABY (G364) L Ferraris After the race, L Ferraris reported that his mount was able to lead comfortably, but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 CONCERTO (E176) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 7 SURE JOYFUL (G125) M F Poon Near the 1300 Metres was bumped when PRINCE ALEX shifted out and then raced keenly in the early stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) Z Purton Leaving the 350 Metres was bumped by PRINCE ALEX.
After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount was able to obtain a favourable position in the event, but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and was somewhat disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
The performance of TURIN WARRIOR was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, TURIN WARRIOR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 9 TO INFINITY (G277) Y L Chung Approaching the 300 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of SURE JOYFUL.
Horse No 11 KYRUS UNICORN (D267) A Atzeni Approaching the 700 Metres improved to the inside of TO INFINITY where there was doubtful room and then became unbalanced when crowded by TO INFINITY which shifted in slightly.
A Atzeni was advised to exercise care and to ensure that there is sufficient room when improving into similar runs in future.
Horse No 12 AMAZING BOY (D513) K C Leung After the race, K C Leung stated that after jumping awkwardly and losing ground, AMAZING BOY settled further back in the field than what he had anticipated.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After slotting in one off the fence better than midfield from gate nine, early favourite Noble Pursuit took control near the 100m for a second win from his past three starts. He'll be in Class Three next time out but is still open to better. Sure Joyful ran on nicely with two wider out for second after slotting one off from behind midfield. He's holding his condition very well following a win. After going forward three wide from gate 10 to track the leader Super Baby, Atomic Beauty kept on reasonably well for third after hitting the front 230m out. He's in a good patch of form. Well-backed Kyrus Dragon ran on nicely near the inside to fill the frame after a patient ride second last. He's run well twice over this Valley trip from three starts following a Class Five win. Red Majesty had his chance after a box-seat run and it was an improved effort following a downgrade. Concerto came up one paced after a prominent run on the fence. He had no excuse. It was another costly effort by Turin Warrior, who weakened tamely after finding a one-off spot in midfield from gate 12 as the post-time favourite.
