Race Four : (382) - THE HONG KONG FOOTBALL CLUB CENTENARY CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 SCOTCH TYCOON (G088) B Avdulla Was bumped at the start and then raced tight to the inside of HARMONY FIRE (H Bowman).
H Bowman was advised to exercise more care.
Was bumped near the 650 Metres.
Leaving the 450 Metres was bumped and taken wider.
Bumped at the 300 Metres.
Horse No 2 HARMONY FIRE (E175) H Bowman Was bumped by CIRCUIT SEVEN inside the 50 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SERGEANT PEPPER (E432) E C W Wong Near the 100 Metres raced tight to the inside of CIRCUIT SEVEN as that runner shifted in when improving to the inside of HARMONY FIRE.
Horse No 4 LIFE IS GOOD (H118) Y L Chung Crowded shortly after the start.
Near the 650 Metres was checked away from BEAUTY DESTINY.
Near the 450 Metres was steadied away from SAVVY DELIGHT, shifted out and made contact with SUPER FAST DRAGON.
After the race, Apprentice Y L Chung reported that his mount raced keenly throughout the event and refused to settle.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 SAVVY DELIGHT (E386) A Atzeni Crowded for room shortly after the start.
In the early stages raced keenly.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 G ONE EXCELLENT (E359) C L Chau At the 300 Metres shifted out and made contact with SCOTCH TYCOON.
Horse No 7 BEAUTY DESTINY (H281) M Chadwick In the early part of the Home Straight lay in behind OVERSUBSCRIBED and proved reluctant to shift to that runner's outside.
Continued to lay in for the remainder of the event.
After the race, M Chadwick reported that his mount over-raced throughout the event and refused to settle.
He said for some distance in the middle stages his mount got its head up when being steadied away from OVERSUBSCRIBED.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 SUPER FAST DRAGON (G456) L Hewitson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 750 Metres commenced to race keenly when steadied away from LIFE IS GOOD, shifted out and made contact with SCOTCH TYCOON near the 650 Metres.
Near the 450 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced.
After the race, L Hewitson reported that from the 500 Metres his mount was bumped on a number of occasions when racing tight between LIFE IS GOOD and SCOTCH TYCOON and as a consequence did not finish the race off as expected.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 CIRCUIT SEVEN (D474) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly.
Near the 100 Metres shifted in before being corrected by its rider M F Poon.
Then shifted out and made contact with HARMONY FIRE.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 GALLANT GOODY (H434) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.
Horse No 12 LEAN MASTER (H134) H Bentley Over the concluding stages raced tight between OVERSUBSCRIBED and HARMONY FIRE which shifted out after being bumped by CIRCUIT SEVEN and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish of the event.

After a rails run from better than midfield, Circuit Seven weaved a run near the inside to win a blanket finish over Harmony Fire and Oversubscribed, posting his fourth career win over the Valley 1,000m. Harmony Fire wouldn't go down without a fight after making the lead from gate nine. He's racing well without winning this term. Oversubscribed kept plugging away to finish a close third after a prominent run one off the fence. He's held his condition very well to place in his past two starts after a win. Sergeant Pepper just finished out of the placings after getting a dream run in the box seat. It was a better effort with the claim well utilised. Lean Master nearly grabbed fourth after going forward three wide to sit outside the leader from gate 10. It was a pleasing effort after filling the frame in three of four prior starts. G One Excellent was doing his best work late to finish next best after switching off heels for a clear run 250m out. It was an improved effort. Favourite Super Fast Dragon never got in on the act after travelling third last from gate 12. It was a disappointing effort after a last-start win.
