So We Joy quickened nicely to win going away after settling five back and one off the fence for a sixth career win from 45 starts. Adefill dashed well to just edge Yellowfin for second after making his run three from the rear. It was another good effort following a last-start win. Yellowfin found a couple too good after giving a cheeky sight in front from barrier eight. He's run well in his past two starts after an easy win on this surface. Perfect Team came from last to place fourth. He's quite honest on this surface. Frantanck had his chance but only plodded after a box-seat run as the favourite. He couldn't build on a runner-up performance last start but likely needs a longer trip. Outgate faded to finish next best after working forward to chase the leader from gate 13. He was trying the dirt mile for the first time but is on his mark after a win four runs back over the Valley 1,650m. Self Improvement just plodded when asked for an effort from better than midfield on the fence. He didn't get the trip. Romantic Charm clipped heels and came down rounding the final bend.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

The performance of EVERYONE'S DELIGHT, which finished tailed out on the second consecutive occasion, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, EVERYONE'S DELIGHT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a series of consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 ADEFILL (G317) H Bowman Held up for clear running between the 500 Metres and the 400 Metres.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 PERFECT TEAM (H120) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly and then was crowded.

Held up on the Home Turn.

Horse No 7 SELF IMPROVEMENT (H337) K C Leung In the early stages raced keenly and lay out.

Horse No 8 ROMANTIC CHARM (H227) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly and shifted out.

The Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason for ROMANTIC CHARM falling near the 450 Metres, resulting in C Y Ho being dislodged.

After taking evidence from M F Poon, the rider of ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE, the inquiry was adjourned so that Jockey Ho, who had been transported to hospital for medical assessment, could be interviewed.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that as a consequence of the fall ROMANTIC CHARM was lame in its right front and right hind legs.

Before being allowed to race again, ROMANTIC CHARM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
