Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (367) - FLAMINGO HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 CAMPIONE (G235) Y L Chung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, CAMPIONE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 2 CAPITAL DELIGHT (H262) C Y Ho Slow to begin.
Horse No 3 MAGNIAC (H141) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 ALL IS GOOD (G269) L Ferraris A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 SMOKEY BEAR (E126) K De Melo Bumped on jumping.
Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running before shifting to the inside of MARK THE MOMENT to secure clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 TORONADO PHANTOM (E300) A Atzeni Crowded at the start and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 8 GOOD BUDDY (E097) A Badel Jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 700 Metres was taken wider when LADY'S CHOICE hung out and then raced wide and without cover thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 LADY'S CHOICE (H155) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly and was bumped.
Making the first turn near the 700 Metres hung out across FIERY DIAMOND and as a result was severely checked, resulting in LADY'S CHOICE losing significant ground.
Near the 600 Metres LADY'S CHOICE was steadied away from GOOD BUDDY when it continued to hang out.
The racing manners of LADY'S CHOICE were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, LADY'S CHOICE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend in Hong Kong.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 SAVVY CHIC (G261) M F Poon Slow to begin.
Horse No MONTA FRUTTA (H455) M Chadwick Withdrawn on 23.1.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart irregularity) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter LADY'S CHOICE.
Before being allowed to race again, MONTA FRUTTA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Following a prominent run one off the fence, favourite Magniac claimed the lead near the 100m marker and was too smart for a second local win from 11 post-import starts. Smokey Bear ran on nicely along the inside to grab second from behind midfield. He showed his true colours after misfiring last start with blood in his trachea. Capital Delight just edged Sports Legend for third after making his run three from the rear. It was another positive effort carrying more weight after a win. Sports Legend grudgingly gave way after assuming the lead 250m out from Mark The Moment following a speed-tracking run from gate nine. He lived up to a nicer trial for his new trainer. Toronado Phantom came from near last to finish next best without threatening the top four. He's run on okay in back-to-back races following a win. Mark The Moment was stopping near the 100m marker after working hard to lead 800m out from gate 12. After settling behind midfield from gate 11, Good Buddy was posted wide and failed to figure. He had an excuse. Lady's Choice was coming back to the field following a prominent run.
