Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (259) - LUKFOOK JOAILLERIE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 CELESTIAL POWER (D393) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the race, M Chadwick reported that his mount failed to stretch out fully throughout the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of CELESTIAL POWER, which finished tailed out on the second consecutive occasion, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, CELESTIAL POWER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a series of consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
Horse No 2 BEAUTYVERSE (H075) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 GOLDEN ARTIE (G434) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly and from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 SPEED DRAGON (H380) J McDonald Jumped only fairly.
Held up from the 450 Metres to the 350 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 MASTER OF FORTUNE (G474) Z Purton Prior to the declaration of weighed-in, the Stewards conducted an inquiry to ascertain whether MASTER OF FORTUNE had been denied a fair start.
After taking evidence from Z Purton and Mr A Speechley, Starter, the Stewards found that whilst being assisted by a starting gate handler MASTER OF FORTUNE reared simultaneously as the start was effected which resulted in MASTER OF FORTUNE losing significant ground.
As the Stewards were satisfied that MASTER OF FORTUNE had not been denied a fair start, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.
Before being allowed to race again, MASTER OF FORTUNE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 KARMA (G392) C Y Ho For a short distance leaving the 200 Metres raced tight between BEAUTY MISSILE and MARADO which shifted in slightly.
Inside the 50 Metres was steadied to avoid the heels of SPEED DRAGON (J McDonald) which shifted in.
J McDonald was reprimanded.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 BEAUTY FIT (E279) A Hamelin Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 ZOOM BOOM (G131) K Teetan Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced.
Leaving the 200 Metres was awkwardly placed close to FLYING MOJITO for a short distance when improving to that runner's inside.
Horse No 11 MAJESTIC SPEED (J018) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly, made heavy contact with ZOOM BOOM, blundered and became unbalanced.
Raced keenly throughout the early stages.
Horse No 12 MARADO (E245) C L Chau Leaving the 400 Metres, C L Chau lost control of his whip for a number of strides before regathering.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 14 STAR MAC (J053) K C Leung Slow to begin.

Well-backed Speed Dragon timed things perfectly to just deny Beauty Fit after a one-off trip from behind midfield for a maiden win at his third local start. The combination of riding change to James McDonald and adding of blinkers worked the oracle. Beauty Fit did everything right but get the win after hitting the front 200m out from the box seat. He's racing very well without winning. Star Mac dashed well down the outside for third after making his run three wide towards the rear following a slow start. He relished a rise in trip. Favourite Karma stayed on a non-threatening after a one-off trip from midfield. He went okay trying the 1,600m for the first time. Golden Artie ran on steadily to just miss the frame settling wide with cover from behind midfield from gate 14. Beauty Missile had his chance after a prominent run but came up one paced over the last 100m. Marado gradually faded after a handy run wide without cover. He had an excuse. Master Of Fortune ran on without threatening after badly missing the kick by about seven lengths.
