Race Eight : (249) - KOWLOON BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 2 LOYAL BABY (E130) M Chadwick Bumped on jumping.
Was left racing wide and without cover from the 1000 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 GALLANT WAKING (G165) C Y Ho From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Held up on the Home Turn.
Approaching the 250 Metres was shifted to the inside of HOSS to obtain a narrow run between that runner and ROMANTIC LAOS and as a result made contact with ROMANTIC LAOS.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 HOSS (H055) K Teetan Approaching the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded by MALDIVES (K De Melo) which shifted in.
K De Melo was advised to exercise more care.
After the race, K Teetan reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily during the early and middle stages but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, may not have run out the 1650 Metres of tonight's race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 U S S CONSTITUTION (H357) B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 200 Metres was inconvenienced when YOU'REMYEVERYTHING shifted in.
Horse No 7 ROMANTIC LAOS (G476) C L Chau Bumped at the 250 Metres.
Horse No 8 YOU'REMYEVERYTHING (E413) Y L Chung Lay in over the final 200 Metres.
Horse No 9 MALDIVES (D329) K De Melo Bumped at the start.
Horse No 10 PRECISE EXPRESS (D198) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with TOURBILLON PRINCE.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 RED MAJESTY (E028) M L Yeung Bumped on jumping.
Horse No THESIS (H111) A Badel Withdrawn on 12.12.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter ROMANTIC LAOS.
Before being allowed to race again, THESIS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Firming favourite Tourbillon Prince found the front 1,300m out, turned the final bend one length on top and maintained his strong gallop for his first Hong Kong win on his sixth local start. He relished returning to the distance over which he placed in October and November. Gallant Waking got through a gap late to snatch second after Vincent Ho Chak-yiu rode him patiently from the outside gate. He has placed in three of his four Happy Valley mile races. Maldives was outsprinted for the runner-up spot. He rarely runs badly. Romantic Laos made his run three from the rear and just failed to get up for a placing. It was another honest effort. Moments In Time came up one-paced after his box-seat run. It was a better effort third up down in class racing at Happy Valley for the first time. Foolish Heart raced prominently and loomed as a chance early in the home straight but peaked on his run 100m out. He has performed all right in his past three starts but is still acclimatising. You'remyeverything came up flat after his midfield trip one off the fence.
