Race Six : (237) - JIM AND TONIC HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) J Moreira Hampered on jumping.
Horse No 2 ENSUED (H452) B Avdulla From the 400 Metres was held up behind CIRCUIT MIGHTY and near the 350 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between CIRCUIT MIGHTY and ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE and did not obtain clear running until near the 300 Metres.
Again near the 250 Metres was then held up behind SILVER KING when that runner commenced to give ground and did not obtain clear running until near the 200 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SILVER KING (H420) J McDonald Became unbalanced when bumped shortly after the start.
After the race, J McDonald stated that after holding the lead, his mount came under pressure on the Home Turn and weakened noticeably in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of SILVER KING, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, SILVER KING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 4 ENIGMA (J077) M Guyon When giving ground near the 350 Metres became unbalanced when crowded between CIRCUIT MIGHTY and C P BRAVE which shifted in and away from AWESOME FLUKE despite the efforts of its rider.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 UNIVERSAL HORIZON (G360) C Y Ho Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 7 SWAN BAY (H062) K Teetan Hampered on jumping when crowded by SILVER KING.
For some distance near the 1200 Metres raced tight to the inside of S J TOURBILLON (W Buick) which shifted in.
W Buick was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 8 ROMANTIC CHARM (H227) L Hewitson Passing the 400 Metres became held up behind ENIGMA as that runner commenced to give ground and did not obtain clear running until the 350 Metres.

Horse No 9 BILLIONAIRE SECRET (G303) Z Purton From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 C P BRAVE (E306) M Barzalona Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and then was crowded by AWESOME FLUKE which was taken in by SWAN BAY.

Horse No 11 S J TOURBILLON (G138) W Buick Jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 12 CIRCUIT MIGHTY (G078) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 13 ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342) K De Melo From the 250 Metres to the 200 Metres was held up inside SILVER KING when that runner was giving ground.
Horse No BIG RED (H299) M L Yeung Withdrawn on 9.12.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left front ligament injury) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE.
Before being allowed to race again, BIG RED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No DEVILDOM (H445) C L Chau Withdrawn on 9.12.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter SWEET ENCOUNTER.

C P Brave quickened nicely to win going away 150m out after turning the final bend three wide with cover from behind midfield. He had run well in his first three starts across both tracks for his new trainer. Romantic Charm ran on well near the inside to grab second late after a patient ride fifth last. He's improved from one run to the next with a suitable step up to 1,800m. Outsider Sweet Encounter just held onto third after working to the lead 300m out following a prominent run. It was a return to form for him. Awesome Fluke just missed out on a placing after settle three wide with cover from midfield. It was another positive effort after placing on his local debut over 1,400m last Sunday. Billionaire Secret made good ground late ridden stone cold from gate 13. He's hit the line well in his past two starts at this level after a Class Four win. Nicholson Returns made headway late down the outside settling second last from gate 11. Swan Bay ran on without threatening from near the rear.
