Horse No 1 LUCKY GOLD (G112) L Hewitson A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 ROYAL PRIDE (E351) J McDonald After the race, J McDonald could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 MERCHANT PRINCE (H268) K C Leung Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 4 LOOKING COOL (G151) M Barzalona From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Lay in in the Home Straight.
Horse No 5 SUPER BABY (G364) L Ferraris On arrival at the barriers it was noted that SUPER BABY had lost its left front plate.
SUPER BABY was replated, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 CHATEAU (H214) A Badel Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 7 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 FEARLESS FIRE (B085) K Teetan Raced keenly in the early stages and making the turn near the 550 Metres hung out and was steadied away from CHATEAU.
Continued to hang out for some distance thereafter.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 LEGION OF MERIT (D419) B Avdulla Bounded on jumping and lost ground.
Held up on the Home Turn.
After improving to the inside of MERCHANT PRINCE in the early part of the Home Straight, then was held up between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres behind AMAZING BOY.
Horse No 10 SIMPLY MAVERICK (H346) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 AMAZING BOY (D513) T Marquand After the race, T Marquand reported that his mount travelled comfortably in the early stages, but when asked for an effort on the Home Turn failed to respond and raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 DRAGON PRIDE (D164) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 200 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between ROYAL PRIDE and LUCKY GOLD which shifted in slightly.
Was then shifted to the outside of LUCKY GOLD where it secured clear running a short distance after.

Early favourite Simply Maverick stalked the pace, hit the front 250m out and bolted clear to shed his maiden tag on his fifth start. He built on his improved fifth over this course and distance three weeks ago. Post-time favourite Fearless Fire stayed on well for second without threatening the winner after his handy run one off the fence. He has run well in his past three starts and should score soon. Punted late, Turin Warrior ran on well down the outside for third after making his run from the widest draw and fourth last. He is racing well without saluting. Legion Of Merit ran on nicely near the inside to fill the frame after making an awkward start and travelling third last. He is naturally returning to form this season. Looking Cool made ground from near last to finish the next best. He is not far off a rating bottom. Dragon Pride made headway late from the rear of the field. Chateau gradually faded after chasing the speed wide without cover from gate 11. He has shown progress in his past two starts. Super Baby never landed a blow from behind midfield. He is mixing his form.
