Race Two : (224) - FRANCE HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 CHARMANDER (G437) C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 100 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of ONE HEART ONE to secure clear running.
Horse No 2 CIRCUIT ELITE (E487) B Avdulla After the race, B Avdulla stated that his instructions were to settle where comfortable.
He said CIRCUIT ELITE jumped awkwardly and as a result he elected to shift the horse across behind runners in the early stages.
He added when the pace was slow in the early stages, he rode his mount forward from the 900 Metres but when unable to cross and race closer to the rail CIRCUIT ELITE was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter.
Horse No 3 HAPPY JAI JAI (E069) Z Purton After the race, Z Purton reported that HAPPY JAI JAI was not suited by the slow early pace of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 ONE HEART ONE (H004) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 6 BROTHER PEARL (H030) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 8 MEDIC ELITE (G129) H Doyle Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of NICE BIRDIE, restricting H Doyle's ability to ride her mount out to the finish of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 DOUBLE SHOW (G250) T Marquand A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 COMPULSORY (E328) A Atzeni As the start was effected reared and lost ground, resulting in its rider A Atzeni becoming unbalanced.
Before being allowed to race again, COMPULSORY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

In a very slowly run race, Nice Birdie circled the field to settle second 800m out and just wore down Medic Elite to register his first win on his 17th start. He was a surprise victor from a wide gate after managing only one distant fifth from his three previous runs at this level. Medic Elite found one too good after tracking the pedestrian pace of Mister Arm and working to the lead at the halfway mark. He is always a chance in this grade. Hang's Choice ran on well for third after travelling one off the fence behind midfield. It was another good effort following his last-start win. Specked late, One Heart One ran on well down the outside for fourth after Lyle Hewitson rode him patiently one from the rear. It was a better run than his first-up effort. Brother Pearl ran on steadily to finish the next best after his rail run behind midfield. He proved his surprise fourth last start was not a fluke. Favourite Happy Jai Jai plodded when asked for an effort following his prominent run. It was a below-par performance after placing in his first three starts this term. Loyal Ambition ran on from behind midfield without threatening the placegetters.
