Recap by phillip woo

Yellowfin was gifted an easy time in front and never looked back after turning the final bend nearly three lengths on top for a third win from his past four starts. He's a very honest type. Punted late So We Joy ran on nicely to finish a distant second after a rails run from behind midfield. He was able to build on a ground-covering defeat first up this term. Kimberley just held off favourite Adefill for third after a prominent run on the fence. It was clearly his best run to date with a switch to the dirt. Adefill got going late after a wide trip from towards the rear to just miss a placing. It was another honest performance. Perfect Team came from last and widest out to finish next best after missing the kick. Fiery Diamond produced a grinding effort after a wide with cover run from midfield. He had an excuse. Super Win Dragon didn't fire when asked for more after a one-off run from better than midfield. He's more effective over the 1,200m. Viva Hunter will sleep well after getting posted three wide without cover near the speed from a tricky gate.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven : (219) - HUMPHREYS HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 SUPER WIN DRAGON (E253) C Y Ho A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 FIERY DIAMOND (G022) C L Chau Near the 1400 Metres, after improving to the inside of VIVA HUNTER (K C Leung), was steadied when crowded by that runner.

K C Leung was advised to exercise more care.

After the race, C L Chau stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to obtain a position with cover in the early stages.

He added that whilst his mount was able to obtain a position three wide and with cover behind VIVA HUNTER in the middle stages, it raced keenly and then was one-paced to the finish of the event.

Trainer T P Yung confirmed the instructions and said such instructions were issued as, in his opinion, it was a disadvantage to hold the lead today.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 PERFECT TEAM (H120) E C W Wong Slow to begin and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 4 ADEFILL (G317) J McDonald After the race, J McDonald stated that he was instructed to settle where comfortable.

He said from the outside barrier he elected to race in a midfield position where ADEFILL travelled comfortably behind FIERY DIAMOND.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 YELLOWFIN (G326) L Hewitson Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 SO WE JOY (D082) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 VIVA HUNTER (E369) K C Leung When questioned regarding his riding in the early and middle stages and as to whether there was an opportunity to improve forward with the slow pace of the event, K C Leung stated that his instructions were to hold a forward position and was given the option of leading if available to him.

He said whilst he was aware that the pace of the event in the early stages was slow, when his mount was travelling comfortably and with LOVERO positioned to his inside travelling well, he was reluctant to go forward and attempt to cross that runner as he felt LOVERO would have held its position and this would have resulted in VIVA HUNTER being disadvantaged.

He added as a result he remained racing wide and without cover where his mount travelled comfortably.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 9 SOLAR GOGO (H390) K De Melo Crowded shortly after the start.

Horse No 11 RED ACLAIM (J017) Z Purton Bumped on jumping.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
