Race Nine : (203) - CHEVALIER COLD STORAGE & LOGISTICS HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 WOODFIRE BRO (G115) M L Yeung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 BEAUTYVERSE (H075) Y L Chung Crowded near the 1400 Metres.
Near the 750 Metres got its head up.
Horse No 3 ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342) K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 250 Metres, K Teetan momentarily lost control of his whip before quickly regathering it.
Horse No 4 POWERFUL WINGS (G225) M F Poon Bumped on the hindquarters after the 250 Metres and became unbalanced.
After the race, M F Poon reported that his mount jumped awkwardly and as a result settled further back than what he had been instructed.
Horse No 5 SPEED DRAGON (H380) A Atzeni From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages, but was unable to obtain cover and as a result raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the 250 Metres BEAUTY FIT (A Hamelin) shifted to the outside of CAPITAL LEGEND to secure clear running, resulting in ROMANTIC CHARM being taken out and making contact with MARADO which resulted in MARADO being taken out further onto POWERFUL WINGS and SPEED DRAGON, which lay in, having to be steadied after bumping with POWERFUL WINGS and becoming unbalanced.
A Hamelin was advised to exercise more care.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 ROMANTIC CHARM (H227) J McDonald Crowded after the 250 Metres.
Horse No 7 MASTER OF FORTUNE (G474) Z Purton Bumped at the start.
Near the 1400 Metres BEAUTY FIT shifted in and away from MARADO (C L Chau) after initially being taken in by that runner, resulting in MASTER OF FORTUNE being steadied and shifted in when momentarily crowded, crowding the running of BEAUTYVERSE.
C L Chau was advised to exercise more care.
When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, Z Purton stated that having regard to the pattern of racing, his preference was to obtain a run to the inside in the Home Straight.
He said after having to improve to the outside of BEAUTYVERSE on the Home Turn, he then was obliged to attempt to secure clear running wider on the track between POWERFUL WINGS and SPEED DRAGON, but approaching the 250 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between those runners.
He added as a result he then shifted MASTER OF FORTUNE to the inside where he was able to commence riding his mount along, but near the 100 Metres he improved into a narrow run to the inside of CAPITAL LEGEND and as result was not able to fully test his mount for a number of strides thereafter when he was concerned that he may cause interference to FLAMINGO TRILLION which was positioned directly to his inside.
He further stated that after fully establishing clear running, he was able to recommence riding his mount out to the finish of the event.
In the circumstances, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Purton were reasonable, however, he was advised, wherever possible, he should fully test his mounts out to the finish of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 BEAUTY FIT (E279) A Hamelin After the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of CAPITAL LEGEND.
Horse No 9 SOLAR GOGO (H390) K De Melo From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Post-time favourite Chancheng Glory dropped the anchor after finding the lead from gate five and kept finding when upping the tempo coming to the final bend to make it three on the trot following a step up to 1,600m despite a rise in class. He's racing well and win again. Woodfire Bro couldn't reel in the winner with every chance after a prominent run on the fence. It was a good run carrying top weight first-up this term for his new trainer. Beauty Fit ran on well for third from midfield. He should pick up a race soon after placing in three straight runs. In a blanket finish for fourth, Capital Legend just held off Master Of Fortune after settling one-out, one-back. He's mixing his form. Last-start winner Master Of Fortune was doing his best work late after making his run five back and one off the fence. He didn't get the tempo to suit. Romantic Charm just plodded after a one-off run from better than midfield. Early favourite Beautyverse finished next best with a ducking-and-weaving run from behind midfield. Powerful Wings made headway late with two wider out after settling four from the rear. He doesn't appear from his past two starts to be far off a bottom.
