Race Two : (196) - CHEVALIER LIFTS & ESCALATORS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 FLYING DRAGON (E360) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 WUNDERBAR (H411) J McDonald Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 VALIANT ELEGANCE (D285) A Hamelin Shortly after the start shifted out and got its head up when being corrected by its rider A Hamelin.
Approaching the 350 Metres was steadied away from HAYDAY, shifted out and bumped heavily.
Horse No 4 GANGNAM STAR (H326) M Chadwick After being shifted to the inside near the 300 Metres to obtain clear running then raced greenly and proved difficult to ride out.
Horse No 5 GRAND CONQUEROR (H469) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by GUSTY FIGHTER which shifted out.
Approaching the 350 Metres HAYDAY shifted out and away from LOYAL BO BO when LOYAL BO BO shifted out before being corrected by its rider Z Purton.
As a result, HAYDAY then shifted out further, resulting in VALIANT ELEGANCE, which was positioned close to the heels of HAYDAY, then being taken out abruptly and bumping heavily with ISLAND BRIGHT, resulting in ISLAND BRIGHT being taken out further, causing GRAND CONQUEROR to be checked when crowded between ISLAND BRIGHT and GOLDEN CHAMPION.
The Stewards found that the racing manners of HAYDAY were the significant contributor to the interference being caused.
Horse No 7 LOYAL BO BO (J011) Z Purton After blundering approaching the 200 Metres then lay out under pressure to the finish of the event.
After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily in an on-pace position, but when asked for an effort from the 400 Metres did not respond to his riding as strongly as he had anticipated and finished the race off only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 NEW POWER (H325) M L Yeung Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 10 ISLAND BRIGHT (H363) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly.
Approaching the 350 Metres bumped heavily and became unbalanced.
Horse No 12 GOLDEN CHAMPION (H348) M F Poon Raced tight for a short distance after the start.
Approaching the 350 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced.
Horse No 13 HAYDAY (H321) A Atzeni Approaching the 350 Metres shifted out and away from LOYAL BO BO.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No BELLE HEART (H305) C L Chau Withdrawn on 25.11.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter HAYDAY.
Before being allowed to race again, BELLE HEART will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 11 LUCKY QUALITY (D050) C Y Ho After being loaded became fractious in the barriers and got its right front leg over the barrier partition.
Acting on veterinary advice that LUCKY QUALITY was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY QUALITY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Subsequently C Y Ho was examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements.

Firming to jump an odds-on favourite Wunderbar edged clear after rolling to lead narrowly 800m out from a low draw to remain perfect in two starts. Flying Dragon ran on nicely to clearly take second after a patient ride third last on the far side. He rarely produced a bad run over the straight 1,000m. Gangnam Star jumped out of his skin late from last after switching into the open on the far side to snatch third from second favourite Loyal Bo Bo. It was an eye-catching debut effort despite travelling greenly. Newcomer Loyal Bo Bo was on his tippy toes 100m out after vying for the front from an inside draw. He should come on from the experience. New Power ran on reasonably well on the grandstand side after settling second last early on from gate 13. It was a positive debut effort. First-starter Gusty Fighter finished next best after leading for the first 200m. Valiant Elegance just held his ground from midfield after wandering out and causing interference to Grand Conqueror and Golden Champion 350m out. Lucky Quality was restless and withdrawn by order of the stewards.
