Drombeg Banner just held on to win a thriller after straightening a length on top dictating the run from gate 10. He was first-up off 168 days but relished return to Class Three with the claim well utilised. Green N White made it very close on the wire after a wide with cover run from behind midfield. It was a huge run in a higher grade after winning past two in Class Four. Beauty Fit finished nicely near the inside to make it a bob of heads on the wire after a one-off run inside Green N White. It was his best run in a while. Blue Marlin ran on well after straightening widest out ridden wide towards the rear from gate 13. It was another good run after winning his first two starts this term. Foolish Heart ran on steadily to finish next best without threatening the top four from midfield on the fence. Firming favourite Yellowfin couldn't lift after a prominent run on the fence. He couldn't cope carrying six pounds more following a win in September. Flagship Warrior got going late without threatening after settling last from gate 14. He requires a stronger rider.

Horse No 1 DROMBEG BANNER (H117) Y L Chung Jumped awkwardly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 FLAGSHIP WARRIOR (G452) E C W Wong From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

When questioned regarding his riding from the 700 Metres, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount commenced to race keenly and as result improved to the inside of FALLON and raced behind PHOENIX LIGHT.

He said from the 700 Metres until near the 500 Metres he was unable to improve his position behind PHOENIX LIGHT, but after entering the Home Straight and being inconvenienced near the 350 Metres when PHOENIX LIGHT shifted out, he was able to place FLAGSHIP WARRIOR under full pressure where it ran to the line strongly.

When questioned if there was an opportunity to shift to the outside of FALLON to follow BLUE MARLIN into the event approaching the 700 Metres.

Apprentice Wong stated that he was concerned that FALLON would shift out, taking his mount wider and for this reason he elected to shift to the inside.

After considering his explanation, the Stewards advised Apprentice Wong that he had made an error of judgement in not shifting to the outside to follow BLUE MARLIN which would have allowed him to improve into the event sooner than what he did on this occasion.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 BLUE MARLIN (H078) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 5 GOOD BUDDY (E097) L Ferraris Near the 350 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded between FLAMINGO TRILLION and PARTERRE which shifted out slightly.

After the race, L Ferraris stated that over the final 200 Metres he had some concern with his mount's action and as a result did not fully ride it out to the finish of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 6 YELLOWFIN (G326) L Hewitson After the race, L Hewitson explained that YELLOWFIN jumped only fairly and when a number of runners to his outside showed the intent of leading, he elected to allow YELLOWFIN to settle in behind the leaders in the early stages.

Horse No 10 PARTERRE (E234) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan reported that he had to make some use of his mount in the early stages to hold a forward position and as a consequence PARTERRE gave ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of PARTERRE, a last start winner, was considered to be disappointing as compared to its last start.

Before being allowed to race again, PARTERRE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 12 FLAMINGO TRILLION (H192) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 13 FALLON (H219) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 14 PHOENIX LIGHT (G192) A Badel Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
