Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (137) - HING YIP HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 GALLANT WAKING (G165) Z Purton For some distance after the 900 Metres raced tight to the inside of GAMEPLAYER ELITE.
Horse No 2 AMAZING RUN (H401) L Currie Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 3 SUGAR SUGAR (G016) K H Chan Raced tight for some distance on jumping.
In the middle stages raced keenly, Approaching the 300 Metres was disappointed for a run between GALLANT WAKING and DENFIELD and was then shifted to the inside of DENFIELD to obtain clear running.
Approaching the 200 Metres then attempted to obtain a narrow run between DENFIELD and COLOURFUL EMPEROR, but was steadied passing the 150 Metres when COLOURFUL EMPEROR shifted out.
After COLOURFUL EMPEROR was corrected by its rider and shifted in passing the 150 Metres, SUGAR SUGAR was shifted to the outside of COLOURFUL EMPEROR to secure clear running at the 100 Metres.
Horse No 4 HAPPY DAILY (E294) A Hamelin Steadied shortly after the start when crowded.
Near the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of TORONADO PHANTOM to continue into clear running.
Horse No 5 GAMEPLAYER ELITE (H356) K De Melo In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 900 Metres was steadied away from LUCKY ARCHANGEL.
After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount raced keenly and hung in throughout the event.
Horse No 6 LUCKY ARCHANGEL (E385) M F Poon Noted to have sustained a laceration to its right hind leg.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 SOLAR GOGO (H390) B Avdulla After being loaded into the barriers got its left front leg over the barrier partition for an extended period of time.
Removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was not suitable to race.
Acting on this advice, SOLAR GOGO was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
Before being allowed to race again, SOLAR GOGO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 8 COLOURFUL EMPEROR (H167) Y L Chung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 DENFIELD (G471) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 FUN N GLORY (G003) M Chadwick A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No JOLLY RULER (E346) H Bentley Withdrawn on 30.10.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right front leg) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter AMAZING RUN.
Before being allowed to race again, JOLLY RULER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Rolling Arrangement The track was not rolled today due to the establishment of winter grass seedlings.

Lucky Archangel settled effectively one out, one back from gate four before taking control 100m out to complete his hat-trick of Happy Valley 1,200m wins. He will remain in the grade and another victory would not shock. Colourful Emperor stuck on well after rushing forward from the outside gate to track pace-setting Red Elegance. He backed up the promise he had shown in two of his three races last season. Toronado Phantom plugged on well to fill a placing after his box-seat run. He proved his last-start third was not a fluke. Plunged late, Red Elegance was on his tippy toes 100m out after spearing to the lead from barrier 10. He displayed natural improvement from his first-up run. Sugar Sugar received a patient Alfred Chan Ka-hei ride two from the rear before running into traffic problems in the home straight. He should have finished closer. Gameplayer Elite made some ground after travelling wide with cover worse than midfield. It was a positive Hong Kong debut. Favourite Denfield raced wide without cover in midfield and was onepaced in the run to the line. Jockey Club stewards scratched Solar Gogo at the gates.
