Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (127) - ZHAOQING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 ATOMIC FORCE (G221) H Bentley Lay in in the Home Straight when placed under pressure.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 NOT USUAL STAR (G396) L Ferraris After the race, L Ferraris stated that he was asked to take up a forward position on his mount, but not lead.
He said after NOT USUAL STAR commenced well and he was caught wide in the early stages, he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and lead to avoid covering additional ground.
Horse No 4 SIXTH GENERATION (G120) Z Purton Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 BRAVE STAR (G268) L Hewitson Over-raced throughout the early and middle stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 GOLDEN ARTIE (G434) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 KYRUS DRAGON (H396) B Avdulla In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 800 Metres was steadied away from ATOMIC FORCE.
Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of B Avdulla, 7th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.
Horse No 8 SMOKEY BEAR (E126) K De Melo From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 9 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.
Near the 150 Metres improved into a narrow run between DESERT STAR and SIXTH GENERATION and as a result made contact with DESERT STAR at that point.
Approaching the 100 Metres was then directed to the inside of KYRUS DRAGON to continue into clear running.
Horse No 10 STREET CONQUEROR (H341) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan stated that from the 500 Metres he was unable to proceed forward when positioned behind GOLDEN ARTIE, but then when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount did not respond to his riding in the same manner as it had done in its previous two starts.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Golden Artie got up in deep stretch to deny Brave Star after a handy run along the inside for a second win from 11 local starts. He relished a switch to the Valley and step back to 1,200m. Brave Star found one just too good after hitting the lead 80m out following a prominent run one off the fence. He's returned in good form after disappointing in his final two starts last term. Punted late Kilindini kept on well for a placing after handing up the lead 800m out to Not Usual Star. He lived up to a near win earlier this month despite a return to Class Three. Not Usual Star found a few too good after rushing forward to lead 800m out. It was a better effort after missing the jump last time out. Excellent Peers only plodded when push came to shove after a pace-stalking run despite a move to inform claimer Angus Chung Yik-lai. He has been costly in his three runs this term. Smokey Bear ran on without threatening ridden cold from gate 12. It wasn't a bad run for his new trainer. Kyrus Dragon ran on steadily ridden one off from behind midfield.
