Firming favourite Turin Mascot just got up in the dying stages to deny Majestic Victory after a prominent run on the fence to remain perfect in two Valley 2,200m runs. He was able to lift on a luckless fifth last month over 1,800m. Majestic Victory did everything right but get the win after hitting the front 180m out settling box seat mid-race from gate one. Natural Storm plugged on gamely to hold a placing after circling the field three deep from near last to sit second 900m out. He's always a chance over the Valley 2,200m. Packing Hurricane finished next best without threatening the top three after fading back to settle in the one-one mid-race. It was a better effort. Total Power made ground late down the outside to nearly take fourth from the rear of the field. He opted to stay in the grade off a light weight. S J Tourbillon came up flat from midfield. Young Brilliant had no more to offer 150m out despite straightening three lengths on top after clearing to the lead 1,600m out.

At the 350 Metres was bumped and taken wider by MAJESTIC VICTORY which shifted out.

Horse No 2 PACKING HURRICANE (H137) H Bentley For a short distance near the 200 Metres raced tight between SUPER HONG KONG and NATURAL STORM which shifted out.

Horse No 4 TURIN MASCOT (H165) Z Purton From the 500 Metres until the 350 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 7 SUPER HONG KONG (D241) M Chadwick After the race, M Chadwick reported that his mount may not have appreciated stepping up to Class 3 grade for today's event.

Horse No 8 TOTAL POWER (D138) M F Poon Jumped only fairly and then from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Over the final 200 Metres lay in and proved difficult to ride out to the finish of the event.

Noted to have blood at the left nostril after the race.

A veterinary inspection including an endoscopy determined that TOTAL POWER not be declared a bleeder when there was no blood present in the sinus passages or trachea.
