Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (128) - ZHUHAI HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 ZONE D (D415) B Avdulla As the start was effected stood flat-footed and lost a considerable amount of ground.
As this was the second consecutive occasion that ZONE D had performed in a similar manner, the horse will be required to perform satisfactorily in a series of consecutive barrier trials before being allowed to race again.
Near the 1300 Metres improved to the inside of DEVILDOM (L Ferraris) and was steadied when crowded by that runner before DEVILDOM was corrected by its rider L Ferraris.
L Ferraris was advised to exercise more care.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 BRAVE DREAMS (G156) Y L Chung Approaching the 50 Metres was positioned close to the heels of E LEGEND which shifted out slightly.
Horse No 3 DEVILDOM (H445) L Ferraris Crowded at the start.
Horse No 4 SPLENDID LIVING (E192) L Hewitson Approaching the 100 Metres shifted out before being corrected by its rider L Hewitson.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 BRILLIANT WAY (G215) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 BIG RED (H299) K De Melo Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 10 HK DRAGON (E222) A Hamelin Jumped awkwardly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
Horse No 11 JUNE PLANET (H080) M Chadwick Crowded at the start.
When being shifted towards the rail near the 1500 Metres became unbalanced when being corrected by its rider M Chadwick and as a consequence lost ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, JUNE PLANET will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 12 PEGASUS GENERAL (G189) A Atzeni From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1400 Metres was steadied away from DEVILDOM which, after shifting in towards ZONE D, then shifted out and away from that runner.

Addition to Racing Incidents Report of 25 October 2023 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 8 (118) Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of H Bentley (EVERYONE'S VICTORY), 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.
VICTORY SCHOLARS hung out in the middle stages when racing wide and without cover.

Rolling Arrangement The track was not rolled today due to the establishment of winter grass seedlings.

Favourite Splendid Living took control 150m out after enjoying the gun run behind leader Brilliant Way for a fourth win from nine starts over the Valley 1,650m. He should remain in the grade and can win again. Brilliant Way kept on gamely dictating the run from gate four to just hold second by a pimple over Lean Hero. He enjoyed an easy time up front but has shown improvement from one run to the next following a step up to the Valley 1,650m. Well-backed late, Lean Hero finished nicely after a one-off run from midfield. He ran well despite a rise in class following a win. Big Red ran on steadily to fill the frame after a rails run from midfield. It was another honest effort despite a change in courses. E Legend was on his tippy toes 100m out after tracking a slow pace from a wide draw. Brave Dreams plodded after a handy run trying the Valley 1,650m. Devildom came from towards the rear to finish next best. It was a pleasing effort at his first local start. June Planet never fired from behind midfield. He wasn't suited by the pace.
