Race Four : (114) - TIN HA SHAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 HAPPY FAT CAT (G166) Y L Chung After the race, Apprentice Y L Chung stated that he was unable to hold the lead on HAPPY FAT CAT and this was, in his opinion, the reason for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 MAN STAR (D429) K Teetan A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 E BROTHER (E266) M Chadwick After the race, M Chadwick stated that his mount jumped only fairly and despite riding it along in the early stages settled back in the field.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 STAND UP (G318) Z Purton Passing the 700 Metres was steadied away from SUPER FAST DRAGON (A Badel) which shifted in when not quite clear.
A Badel was advised to exercise more care.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
Horse No 5 BRAVE WITNESS (H425) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 6 COLOURFUL PRINCE (E418) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly.

Horse No 7 SAMARKAND (H070) C L Chau From the outside barrier was attempted to be shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and making the turn after the 700 Metres hung out.
Horse No 8 RED DESERT (C287) B Avdulla Approaching the 250 Metres improved into a tight run between SMART FOLKS and COLOURFUL PRINCE and made contact with SMART FOLKS.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 LUCKY FUN (E013) A Atzeni From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
For some distance approaching the 150 Metres was held up for clear running behind BRAVE WITNESS.
Horse No 11 SUPER FAST DRAGON (G456) A Badel Crowded shortly after the start.
After the race, A Badel stated that his instructions were not to go forward on his mount, but after being caught wide in the early stages, he elected to ride his mount forward where SUPER FAST DRAGON was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Firming favourite Red Desert claimed Colourful Prince 100m out after a wellexecuted ride in the one-one spot. It was a long time between drinks, but the writing was on the wall with a near win last month. Colourful Prince kept on nicely for second after assuming the lead 350m out following a speed-tracking run from gate 10. He's capable on this surface. Daily Trophy dashed well to finish a close third after making his run three from the rear. He appears to have found his niche on the dirt after failing to menace in five prior starts on the turf. Brave Witness ran on steadily down the middle to take fourth after travelling behind midfield on the fence. It was an encouraging debut effort. Smart Folks gradually faded after dictating the run from gate seven. It wasn't a bad first-up performance. Lucky Fun came from last to finish next best. He's one to keep safe on return to turf over 1,200m or even 1,400m. Man Star ran on without threatening from behind midfield. He's disappointed at the top of the weights in two runs down in class this season. Stand Up finished eased down after a wide-with-cover run from midfield.
