Race Two : (112) - TSIM MEI FUNG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 SPICY SO SMART (G203) K C Leung Near the 250 Metres, when giving ground, was steadied away from NOIR RIDER which shifted to the outside of LUCKY RUBY to secure clear running.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 CRAIG'S MASTER (G440) A Hamelin Lay out shortly after the start.
After the race, A Hamelin reported that with blinkers on for the first time, he was instructed to endeavour to hold a more forward position.
He said from the 500 Metres CRAIG'S MASTER came under pressure and when he had concern with its action in the Home Straight, he desisted from riding his mount out to the finish of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of CRAIG'S MASTER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, CRAIG'S MASTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 FIGHTING STAR (E255) Y L Chung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 GENERAL WINNER (E376) A Atzeni Slow to begin.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to take up a more forward position.
Horse No 7 LUCKY RUBY (D338) Z Purton When questioned, Z Purton could offer no excuse for his mount's performance.

After a one-off run in midfield, late-fancied favourite All Is Ready quickened nicely to win going away for a second career win in his first run over the dirt 1,200m. He was able to build on a troubled fourth over 1,400m but was suited by the pace. Day Day Rich turned the final bend two lengths on top after holding the fence in a three-way battle for the front. It was a better effort at his third run this season. Vamos made good ground late for third after settling towards the rear. It was another honest effort after placing in his opening two Valley 1,200m runs. Punted late, Noir Rider ran on well near the inside after making his run from behind midfield following a slow start. He's limited. Turbo Power made headway from behind midfield to finish next best. He rarely produces a bad run but has trouble winning. Lucky Ruby was the meat in the sandwich in a battle for the front and was on his tippy toes 100m out. He had an excuse. Sweet Diamond just held his ground after a rails run from better than midfield. It was another ordinary effort despite a downgrade.
