Firming favourite Yee Cheong Warrior turned the final bend with only one galloper wider and took control 100m out to post his third win, all of them over this C&D. He has started this season in great form, and he is a two-time winner in Class Four. Mighty Star ran on steadily from better than midfield to win a close one for second. It was an improved effort off his career-low rating. Double Show ran on nicely along the inside to just miss second. He has strung together two runner-up results since switching to Happy Valley's 1,650m. Turtle Again ran on well down the outside for fourth after settling three wide with cover worse than midfield. He has turned the corner this season and should break through soon. Punted late, Medic Elite settled last from gate 11 before running on well to just miss a top-four spot. It was another honest effort. Right Honourable made ground late to pick up a minor cheque after Zac Purton rode him patiently one from the rear. He has performed OK in both of his starts down in Class Five. Faithful Trinity only plodded after getting all the favours in the box seat.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four : (95) - VICTORY HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 TRAVEL GUIDE (H182) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of TRAVEL GUIDE, M L Yeung stated that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event which he attributed to the fact that TRAVEL GUIDE did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding??track conditions.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 YEE CHEONG WARRIOR (E025) H Bowman Was sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 RIGHT HONOURABLE (A164) Z Purton Jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

For some distance after the 400 Metres was held up behind YEE CHEONG WARRIOR.

Horse No 5 TURTLE AGAIN (H083) K C Leung After the 400 Metres was bumped and taken wider by YEE CHEONG WARRIOR when that runner shifted to the outside of BEAUTY NOVA to improve.

Horse No 6 MEDIC ELITE (G129) Y L Chung Was slow to begin and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 1400 Metres improved to the inside of TRAVEL GUIDE (M L Yeung) and then shortly after was steadied when crowded by TRAVEL GUIDE.

M L Yeung was severely reprimanded and advised he must ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

Horse No 9 MIGHTY STAR (G117) C L Chau Near the 400 Metres, C L Chau dropped his whip.

Was sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 TSUEN WAN GLORY (E403) L Hewitson After the race, L Hewitson stated that his intention was to hold a forward position but not necessarily lead.

He said from the outside barrier he was able to improve to the lead without having to make too much use of his mount, but, in his opinion, TSUEN WAN GLORY was not suited by racing in that position and gave ground under pressure in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 BEAUTY NOVA (G232) A Badel Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
