Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (86) - SUN TIN WAI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 IMPERIAL MAGEE (E460) H Bentley Near the 350 Metres was momentarily crowded between NICE BIRDIE and GO HERO (L Hewitson) which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.
L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care.
Approaching the 100 Metres NATURAL GOLD shifted in, resulting in its rider, K De Melo, correcting his mount.
Whilst being corrected and being ridden along, NATURAL GOLD then shifted out, resulting in SUPER WISE DRAGON, which had improved to the outside of NATURAL GOLD, being taken out, causing FREE FOAL and GO HERO to be taken out and IMPERIAL MAGEE then having to be checked when crowded to the inside of NOBLE PURSUIT.
K De Melo was severely reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear sooner than what he did on this occasion.
Horse No 2 NOBLE WIN (H195) A Badel Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped shortly after the start.
After the race, A Badel stated that from a wide barrier he was asked to ride the horse in a conservative manner.
He said after settling back in the field, NOBLE WIN did not finish the race off and was somewhat disappointing.
He added that, in his opinion, NOBLE WIN prefers softer going and also would appreciate a race run at a stronger tempo, particularly when settling back in the field.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.
Horse No 3 SUPER BONUS (H259) Y L Chung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 FREE FOAL (E065) L Ferraris Was crowded at the 100 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 GO HERO (H315) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Was crowded at the 100 Metres.
Horse No 8 NOBLE PURSUIT (H324) H Bowman Was sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 SMART FIGHTER (H278) A Atzeni Raced keenly in the middle stages.
Was sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 SUPER WISE DRAGON (G475) M Chadwick Was crowded at the 100 Metres.
Horse No 11 NATURAL GOLD (E402) K De Melo Shifted in approaching the 100 Metres before being corrected by its rider.
Horse No 12 ASIAN ONE (E400) K C Leung On jumping shifted in, was then crowded shortly after and as a result blundered.
Horse No 13 YOUNG HORIZON (G272) Z Purton Was sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 14 NICE BIRDIE (G470) M F Poon Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 FORERUNNER (G465) C L Chau Was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever).
Before being allowed to race again, FORERUNNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Noble Pursuit finished willingly down the outside to edge Smart Fighter after getting caught wide towards the rear for a first win at his third start. Smart Fighter found one too good after hitting the front 100m out from midfield. He flashed good potential in two 1,200m starts last term and will be saluting shortly. Favourite Young Horizon found a couple just too good after enjoying the gun run from gate one. He's improved from one run to the next and isn't far off a winning run. Super Wise Dragon ran on well to fill the frame despite getting impeded late following a patient ride four from the rear trying 1,400m for the first time. Dream Pursuer dashed down the outside to just miss the frame travelling three from the rear. He's close to bottoming out with two positive runs this term. Natural Gold was on his tippy toes 100m out after taking over the lead 400m out following a pace-stalking run. He needed the run. Go Hero ran on steadily to finish next best from behind midfield. He's still learning.
