Viva A La dictated affairs from gate six and scrambled home ahead of fast-finishing favourite Yee Cheong Warrior to make it two wins from his past three starts. He appreciated stepping up to the course and distance at which he had ended third and fourth on his two previous attempts. Yee Cheong Warrior lunged late following his midfield rail run but came up short. He relished returning to his preferred C&D after his eye-catching 1,400m fourth last month. Tsuen Wan Glory stayed on nicely from better than midfield to fill a placing. He was able to build on his surprise 1,200m fourth three weeks earlier. M M Nebula did well to hang on for fourth after getting caught wide without cover in a prominent spot. He has the tools to build on build on both last night's effort and his last-start win on the dirt. Punted late, Sunny Baby ran on late from towards the rear without threatening the placegetters. He is finding it hard to carry heavy weights. Hang's Choice was unlucky not to finish closer. He was held up for a run along the inside until 150m from home after Karis Teetan rode him patiently one from the rear.

Horse No 1 SUNNY BABY (E166) Z Purton After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount was not suited by tonight's "Good to Firm" track conditions and as a consequence failed to respond strongly to his riding in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 M M NEBULA (G279) M Chadwick Was found to have blood in its mouth on arrival at the barriers, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 3 YEE CHEONG WARRIOR (E025) H Bowman Was sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 MILLENNIUM FALCON (D281) Y L Chung Over-raced in the early stages.

After the race, Apprentice Y L Chung explained his intention was to be more forward, but his mount jumped awkwardly and as a consequence settled back.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 SUPER BUDDY (E205) H T Mo Lay in under pressure when giving ground in the Home Straight.

Horse No 6 DAILY BEAUTY (D070) L Currie From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

From the 900 Metres commenced a forward move, but showed insufficient pace to cross runners and as a result raced wide and without cover from that point.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 TSUEN WAN GLORY (E403) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped SUPER BUDDY and became unbalanced.

Horse No 11 HANG'S CHOICE (E311) K Teetan Approaching the 200 Metres was disappointed for clear running to the inside of SUPER BUDDY which shifted in after initially shifting out and did not obtain clear running until the 150 Metres.
