Recap by phillip woo
In a terrific finish, late-fancied Joy Coming scraped home after travelling in the box seat and hitting the front 30m out. It was the lightly raced four-year-old sprinter's second win in a row. He could win again. Exuberant came with a barnstorming finish down the outside to just miss after a patient ride second last from the outside gate. He was both well handicapped and well backed, and he lived up to his good trial. Favourite Travel Golf found a couple too good after his prominent run. He is racing well and could break through soon. Shinkansen came from last to narrowly miss the placings. Douglas Whyte changed his gear, and he responded with the best of his five runs. Sight Hero took a while to get going before charging late to finish a close fifth. It was not a bad performance carrying the top weight. Lucky Gor grudgingly gave way after clearing to the front 800m out. He is capable on his day, but he is not easy to get right. High Percentage came from midfield to finish the next best, but he was only beaten little more than one length. Happy Soul ran on from the rear without threatening the placegetters.
