Favourite Circuit Seven comfortably prevailed after easily finding the front from gate 12 for a third career win over the Valley 1,000m. He was too strong following a downgrade. Punted late, Euromissile stayed on a clear-cut second after a box-seat run. He tends to mix his form but took advantage of gate one. Plunged late, Noble Boyz just clung onto third after working forward three wide to track the leader from gate 11. He had run reasonably well in three other starts this term following an injury. Noir Rider just failed to get up for a placing after slotting fourth with cover from a middle gate. It was a better effort over his preferred 1,000m. Har Har At Heart made headway late near the inside after making his run three back on the fence. He's shown improvement from one run to the next following a downgrade. Birdsville ran on steadily without threatening from midfield on the fence. The trip was too short for his liking. Goodmanship only plodded after a wide run with cover from midfield. He had an excuse. Jazz Steed didn't land a blow from behind midfield. He's had a very busy campaign.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (818) - STREET CAT HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Meters

TRONIC MIGHTY was withdrawn on 10.7.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (colic) and was replaced by fist Standby Declared Starter STARSHIP EIGHTY.

TRAVEL GLORY was withdrawn on 11.7.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter NOIR RIDER (M L Yeung).

VIVA A LA was also withdrawn on 11.7.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality).

Before being allowed to race again, TRONIC MIGHTY, TRAVEL GLORY and VIVA A LA will all be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

HAR HAR AT HEART jumped awkwardly.

Soon after the start, STARSHIP EIGHTY shifted out and crowded GOODMANSHIP which then raced tight between STARSHIP EIGHTY and CHIU CHOW BROTHER which shifted in slightly.

A short distance later, CHIU CHOW BROTHER then made contact with GOODMANSHIP, shifted out and hampered HAPPY HERO.

In the early stages, NOIR RIDER lay in and approaching the first turn commenced to race keenly when being crossed by NOBLE BOYZ.

Near the 700 Metres, HAR HAR AT HEART commenced to race keenly after being crossed by BIRDSVILLE.

H Bowman (NOBLE BOYZ) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 700 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of CHIU CHOW BROTHER, resulting in that horse having to be checked to avoid the heels of NOBLE BOYZ.

In the circumstances, and having regard to his good record, the Stewards believed the appropriate penalty was for H Bowman to be fined the sum of $120,000 in lieu of a period of suspension from riding in races which would incorporate 2 racedays.

EUROMISSILE lay in in the early part of the Home Straight and near the 300 Metres made contact with NOBLE BOYZ as EUROMISSILE endeavoured to shift to the outside of CIRCUIT SEVEN.

CHIU CHOW BROTHER raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

When questioned regarding NOBLE BOYZ racing in a more forward position, H Bowman stated that from a wide barrier he was not given any specific instructions.

He said when NOBLE BOYZ jumped well, he took advantage of the good start and was able to take up a forward position in tonight's event.

After the race, L Hewitson (GOODMANSHIP) reported that his mount settled a little further back than what he had anticipated but ran to the line only fairly and, in his opinion, would be better suited over 1200 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of GOODMANSHIP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of JAZZ STEED immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and had bled from both nostrils.

Before being allowed to race again, JAZZ STEED will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

CIRCUIT SEVEN and EUROMISSILE were sent for sampling.
