Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (811) - THE ARCULLI TROPHY (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1200Meters
LIKE THAT was withdrawn on 8.7.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter PINS PRINCE (H Bowman).
GO HERO was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (wound to left hind).
Before being allowed to race again, LIKE THAT and GO HERO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
NOBLE PURSUIT and CLASSIC MOON were badly crowded at the start between MAGIC SUPREME and SEE U AGAIN, which after being bumped by PINS PRINCE which shifted out, then shifted out and away from that runner.
From the outside barriers, GOOD VIEW GLORY and EASY SNIP were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 100 Metres, ROUND THE GLOBE was eased when momentarily crowded between SEE U AGAIN and PINS PRINCE which shifted out slightly.
After the race, K C Leung (REGENT GLORY) could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance after giving ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection of REGENT GLORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, C Y Ho (NOBLE PURSUIT), which was having its first race start, said that, in his opinion, NOBLE PURSUIT would benefit from a step-up in distance for its next race start.

Following the race, M Dee (EASY SNIP) reported that his mount did not feel comfortable in its action throughout the event.

Punted late, Magic Supreme never looked back after showing superior gate speed to lead from barrier seven to notch a first win after placing three times on the dirt from 11 other starts this term. He was the record-setting 171st winner this season for Zac Purton. Plunged late, Pins Prince stuck on well for second after a box-seat run. It was his best run from seven starts this term, and he is well rated on his current mark. Outsider See U Again just failed to get up for second from better than midfield. It was clearly his best run at Sha Tin. Vanquisher ran on well from towards the rear to snatch fourth at huge odds. It was his best run to date. Round The Globe was again costly when only coming up one-paced after a prominent run one off the fence. Good View Glory ran on without menacing late down the outside after settling second last from a wide draw. He shown flashes of ability in seven starts but is still a work in progress.
