Raging favourite Joyful Hunter stormed home late to snatch victory on the wire from long-time leader Colonel to remain perfect in two starts. He'll be in Class Three now but does have a bright future. Well-backed late, Colonel nearly stole the race after easily finding the front from gate 12. He's continued to give a good sight in his past two starts after a win. Savvy Chic ran on nicely with two wider out to make it close on the wire after a prominent run. He's clearly got the tools to score again in the grade. Wood On Fire just held onto a quartet spot after a pace-stalking run. It was a better effort after disappointing twice in May following a win. Timestorm came up one paced over the final 100m after getting all the favours in the box seat. He's honest but lacks the killer instinct to win a race. E Brother ran on steadily after a one-off run from midfield. He hasn't disgraced in his past four starts but is on his mark after ringing up a third win in February. Exuberant came up flat after a handy run on the fence. He's had trouble stringing together two good runs all season.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (805) - VICTORIA PARK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

CIRCUIT BOOMING, which was fractious in the barriers, jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

PRESTIGE MOOCHI was slow to begin and then was crowded between EXUBERANT and TIMESTORM which was taken in by SAVVY CHIC.

ABOVE ALL was also slow to begin and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Making the first turn approaching the 900 Metres, WOOD ON FIRE, which lay out slightly, was steadied to avoid COLONEL (B Avdulla) which shifted in when not clear.

B Avdulla was reprimanded.

Near the 250 Metres, EXUBERANT endeavoured to improve to the outside of SAVVY CHIC and in doing so bumped with E BROTHER.

A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT BOOMING and ABOVE ALL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

JOYFUL HUNTER and COLONEL were sent for sampling.
