Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (767) - THE PREMIER PLATE (HANDICAP) - Class G3 - 1800Meters
BELUGA was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore).
Before being allowed to race again, BELUGA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A Badel (THE BEST PEACH) was find the sum of $5,000 for returning to scale in excess of 2 lbs over the weight at which he weighed out at.
SENOR TOBA jumped only fairly.
PACKING AWARD and TOURBILLON DIAMOND brushed shortly after the start.
For a short distance near the 350 Metres, SPIRITED EXPRESS was held up for clear running behind TOURBILLON DIAMOND.
Near the 200 Metres, as SPIRITED EXPRESS was being shifted to the outside of TOURBILLON DIAMOND, PANFIELD shifted out and away from SPIRITED EXPRESS and bumped SENOR TOBA.
Also near the 200 Metres, SENOR TOBA was eased to avoid THE BEST PEACH (A Badel) which shifted in slightly.
A Badel was advised to exercise care.
After the race, H Bowman (SENOR TOBA) stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover from the 900 Metres and he could offer no explanation for its disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection of SENOR TOBA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
TUCHEL and THE BEST PEACH were sent for sampling.

After getting pushed three wide rounding the final bend following a prominent run, odds-on favourite Tuchel took control 250m out for a fourth win - and first at Group level - from nine starts this term. He's a smart horse. The Best Peach came from last and widest out to finish a close second. It was a fine performance despite being 11 points out of the handicaps. Spirited Express ran on steadily to fill a placing after a prominent run on the fence. He has continued to race well in his past three starts following a 1,600m win in April. Packing Award held onto fourth after setting a pedestrian pace. It was a better effort with a switch to Sha Tin. Panfield came up one paced from midfield. He wasn't suited by the tempo of the race. Senor Toba never threatened in the run to the wire after taking closer order in midfield at the 900m. He has been out of form since a Group Three win in February. Tourbillon Diamond finished a fading last after a pace-stalking run. He isn't racing well at the moment.
