Racing Incident Report
Race Eleven: (760) - MEI TIN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
MERCHANT PRINCE was withdrawn on 17.6.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NOBLE WIN (A Badel).
Before being allowed to race again, MERCHANT PRINCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
On arrival at the Start, CHARITY GRACE lost its right hind plate.
When the plate was unable to be refitted, CHARITY GRACE was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
Before being allowed to race again, CHARITY GRACE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After being loaded into the barriers, PODIUM became fractious.
PODIUM was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
Before being allowed to race again, PODIUM will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
CAPTAIN WIN shifted out at the start and bumped BEAUTY INSPIRE.
NOBLE WIN was taken in on jumping by KILINDINI and as a result bumped THE ROCK.
NOBLE WIN was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
For some distance near the 300 Metres, NOBLE WIN was held up for clear running behind GOOD BUDDY.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of BEAUTY INSPIRE, Z Purton reported that his mount settled well tonight but when asked for an effort in the Home Straight, it failed to respond to his riding and he could offer no explanation for the performance.
A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY INSPIRE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of BEAUTY INSPIRE, favourite for tonight's race, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY INSPIRE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, L Ferraris (GOOD BUDDY) stated that on pulling up his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise.
A veterinary inspection of GOOD BUDDY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, C Y Ho (CAPTAIN WIN) advised that he was forced wide from the 700 Metres and his mount failed to quicken when asked for an effort in the Home Straight.

Following the race, K C Leung (KILINDINI) reported that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages.
BEAUTY INSPIRE, FIND MY LOVE and SETANTA were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:

After the running of Race 4, the track classification for the turf course was officially changed from "Good to Yielding??to "Good?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 4 being run on a track rated "Good??

Racing Laboratory tests of CIRCUIT ELITE, CLASSIC ARCHI, FINGERS CROSSED, CIRCUIT SPLENDOR, HAPPY GATHERING, M UNICORN, GALLANT CROWN, BEAU GOSSE, SNOWALOT, THE RUNNER, SPEEDY CHARIOT, LEAN HERO, UNITED ENDEAVORS, GOLDEN LUCK, SIGHT HERO, S J TOURBILLON, ROCKET SPADE, SEASONS WIT, HARMONY N BLESSED, SUPERB CAPITALIST and REWARD SMILE (7.6.23) proved negative.

Well-backed late, Find My Love showed a good turn of foot after a patient ride to take control 60m out and make it two on the trot following a gear change to a hood. Setanta found one too good after hitting the front 150m out from behind midfield. He backed up a win last start in Class Four. Noble Win finished nicely near the inside to fill a placing after making his run from the back following a tardy start. He's a winner waiting to happen. Massive Action kept on reasonably well for fourth after tracking the leader Beauty Glory on the fence from gate two. It was an improved effort on his past handful of runs. Plunged late, Beauty Champ just held his ground when asked for more after a one-out, one-back run. He's not genuine. Kilindini dashed late without menacing after settling second last from gate 14. Favourite Beauty Inspire peaked on his run 100m out following a one-off run from midfield. He couldn't back up a last-start second.
