Race Two: (732) - HO SHEUNG HEUNG ROAD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
SUPER EAGLE was slow to begin.
EAGLE RUN jumped awkwardly and then was bumped by STRATHPEFFER which shifted out.
At the 500 Metres, GREAT FOR YOU was momentarily crowded by STRATHPEFFER which shifted out.
Near the 400 Metres, TALENTS SUPREMO was shifted to the outside of TEAM SPIRIT to continue into clear running.
Near the 50 Metres, STRATHPEFFER was shifted to the inside of SPARKLING KNIGHT to secure clear running.
When questioned regarding the performance of BEAUTY DESTINY, Z Purton stated that his mount travelled comfortably in the early stages, but when asked for an effort near the 300 Metres, BEAUTY DESTINY failed to respond and made a respiratory noise when under pressure whilst giving ground.
Trainer F C Lor stated that following its first race start, he had subjected BEAUTY DESTINY to a veterinary examination when no abnormalities could be detected.
He said he was satisfied with the manner in which BEAUTY DESTINY trialed prior to today's event.
A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY DESTINY immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
The performance of BEAUTY DESTINY, favourite for today's race, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY DESTINY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
After the race, it was reported that GREAT FOR YOU had bled from both nostrils.
BEAUTY DESTINY, AMAZING ROCKY and MIDAS TOUCH were sent for sampling.

Well-backed Amazing Rocky kept on gamely after a prominent run, shooting to the lead 300m out and ringing up his first C&D win after placing in seven of 12 other goes over the straight 1,000m. He is an honest sprinter in Class Four. Punted late, Midas Touch ran on nicely from behind midfield to grab second 50m out. He improved on his pleasing debut fifth last month. Talents Supremo closed well near the far side to grab third after making his run three from the rear. He is not genuine. Sparkling Knight grudgingly gave way after dictating the run on the grandstand side. He had his chance. Strathpeffer did his best work late to just miss the frame after showing no speed at the back early on. He has well in back-to-back races. Newcomer Universal Pursuit gradually faded after his speed-chasing run. Eagle Run made some ground late on the stands side after biding his time one from the rear. Team Spirit found nothing when push came to shove after his handy run near the far side. Odds-on favourite Beauty Destiny threw in the towel 200m out after his speed-chasing run.
