Superb Capitalist worked to the lead from gate nine 1,000m out and kept finding to prevail over favourite Reward Smile. He is really thriving since switching to Happy Valley, winning his past two starts. Reward Smile cut the margin to a neck after saving ground in midfield. He handled Happy Valley without a problem after kicking off his local career at Sha Tin with one win and one second. Phoenix Light ran on well for third after making his run outside Reward Smile in midfield. He has run well over 1,200m at Happy Valley in his past three starts. Punted late, Wonder Kit closed off nicely to narrowly miss a placing after biding his time one from the rear. He is racing well without winning, but his time will come. Xponential came up one-paced over the final 100m after handing up the front to travel in the box seat. He could not cope with a heavy weight following his last-start victory. Excellent Peers came from last and widest out to finish next best. It was a typical performance. E Universe faded after his prominent run. He could not handle the rise in class after copping a 10-point penalty for his last-start win.

Race Nine: (730) - TSEUK LUK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

EXCELLENT PEERS was slow to begin and then was hampered when crowded by CZARSON which shifted in.

From a wide barrier, WONDER KIT was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the race, K Teetan (E UNIVERSE) reported that his intention was to settle closer on his mount, but after bumping with LUCKY ARCHANGEL on jumping, E UNIVERSE settled slightly further back than intended.

He added that E UNIVERSAL did not respond to his riding in the Straight and, in his opinion, was somewhat disappointing.

A veterinary inspection of E UNIVERSE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Also after the race, M Dee (TOMODACHI KOKOROE) reported that his mount raced too keenly and was left without a finishing effort.
