Recap by phillip woo
Drifting favourite Packing Hurricane just got up in deep stretch to beat Hit The Shot after turning the final bend with two in front of him to ring up a third straight win following a step up to 2,000m. He's really come into his own and off this performance won't mind 2,400m either. Hit The Shot stayed on nicely to just miss after getting headed for the lead mid-race. He's good enough on his day and the booking of Zac Purton nearly worked the oracle. S J Tourbillon tired late after taking off mid-race to lead 900m out. It was a return to form but the 1,800m appears to be his best distance. Total Power ran on late to fill the frame after getting shuffled back to last coming to the final bend in the seven-runner field. He's racing reasonably well without winning and will be a force to be reckoned with if he finds his way back into Class Four. Veteran Above ran on steadily without ever looking a threat from midfield. He's better suited nowadays at the Valley. Punted late Celtic Times never landed a blow from towards the rear. The step up to 2,000m backfired. It was another ordinary effort by Serangoon.
