Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (668) - SHA WAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to G ONE EXCELLENT was replaced.
SAVVY DELIGHT jumped only fairly and then was hampered when crowded between KING INVINCIBLE and SUPER COMMANDER which shifted out.
PRESTIGE MOOCHI was checked on jumping when crowded by JOY IN JOY which shifted in.
HELLS BELLS was slow to begin and then was steadied to avoid G ONE EXCELLENT which shifted out.
From a wide barrier, OVERSUBSCRIBED was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
LIFE IS GOOD raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages when being steadied to obtain cover.
Near the 700 Metres, JOY IN JOY hung in despite the efforts of its rider, Apprentice Y L Chung, and as a result briefly crowded SAVVY DELIGHT.
Passing the 600 Metres, KING INVINCIBLE was steadied to avoid DIAMOND SOARS (B Avdulla) which shifted in when not quite clear.
B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care.
As a result of this incident, KING INVINCIBLE made the turn awkwardly and shifted out.
PRESTIGE MOOCHI hung in in the Straight and proved difficult to ride out.
DIVINE ERA raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the race, C Y Ho (G ONE EXCELLENT) reported that with the fast early pace, G ONE EXCELLENT was ridden along in the early and middle stages to hold its position.
He added due to the manner he was obliged to ride G ONE EXCELLENT throughout the early and middle stages, his mount found it difficult to make up any appreciable ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection of G ONE EXCELLENT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Upon returning to the stables, SUPER COMMANDER was noted to have blood at its left nostril.
An endoscopic examination conducted on SUPER COMMANDER confirmed the horse to have bled.
A veterinary inspection of DIVINE ERA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SUPER COMMANDER and SAVVY DELIGHT were sent for sampling.

Super Commander kept on gamely to register his third Happy Valley 1,000m win from 12 starts this term after chasing the speed on the fence and overtaking Super Axiom halfway down the straight. It was a return to form after notching only one fourth from his previous seven outings. Late-fancied favourite Savvy Delight made a steady bid near the inside from better than midfield to finish a close second. He ran well, but the big weight took its toll. Super Axiom grudgingly gave way after easily clearing to the front from gate 12. He has given a cheeky sight in his past two starts since stepping back to 1,000m at Happy Valley. King Invincible stayed on all right after his prominent run. It was another creditable effort. Diamond Soars finished next best after chasing the leading pair one off the rail from barrier 11. He is not good enough at this level. Oversubscribed made up heaps of ground late near the inside after entering the straight at the rear of the field. It was a good display in a race run to suit those up front. Early favourite G One Excellent made only a mild bid from near the rear. The slow tempo was against him.
