Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (653) - SHA TIN HEIGHTS HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1650Meters
EVERYONE'S DELIGHT shifted out at the start, resulting in TRUE LEGEND being taken out and bumping the hindquarters of HANDSOME TWELVE.
In this incident, HANDSOME TWELVE then shifted out and made contact with HAVA NAGEELA.
BERLIN TANGO jumped only fairly and then was crowded by RISE BRETHREN which shifted in.
GALAXY WITNESS jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
CHANCHENG PRINCE raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 700 Metres was steadied when placed close to the heels of CHAMPION DRAGON.
SUPER WIN DRAGON was held up for clear running between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres.
HANDSOME TWELVE lay in in the Straight.
CHAMPION DRAGON raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
The performance of TRUE LEGEND, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, TRUE LEGEND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of TRUE LEGEND immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right hind leg.
A veterinary inspection of CHANCHENG PRINCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of EVERYONE'S DELIGHT immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
HAVA NAGEELA and HANDSOME TWELVE were sent for sampling.

7 May 2023 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 2 (636) The Veterinary Surgeon reported that CIRCUIT SPIRITANTO had sustained a tendon injury to both front legs after racing.
Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT SPIRITANTO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Racing Laboratory tests of SUNNY BABY, PACKING HURRICANE, REACH GOAL, BEAUTY DESTINY, LUCKY ENCOUNTER, GREEN N WHITE, SHINING GEM, REWARD SMILE, PRINCE OF PORTY, RED HARE KING, COMMANDING MISSILE, LUCKY SWEYNESSE, COURIER WONDER, CHING, THE BEST PEACH, POWERFUL WINGS, VOYAGE BUBBLE, GOLDEN SIXTY, BEAUTY JOY, ROMANTIC WARRIOR, PROGNOSIS, PRECISE EXPRESS, WIDE BLUE YONDER, NOT USUAL STAR, BEAUTY MISSILE, MR ASCENDENCY, BEAUTY ETERNAL and CIRCUIT STELLAR (30.4.23) proved negative.

Favourite Hava Nageela was too smart for his rivals, surging to the lead 300m from home after chasing the speed between runners and completing his hat-trick of dirt wins. Up in class, it was another fine effort, and he could win again. Handsome Twelve ran on nicely from midfield to easily grab second. He added to his solid form over the dirt 1,650m this term. Super Win Dragon claimed third by a pimple after getting a perfect run fourth on the fence. He rarely produces a bad run on this surface. Rise Brethren finished strongly from towards the rear to just miss a placing. It was a good effort on his first all-weather appearance, but he would probably prefer 1,800m. Champion Dragon grudgingly gave way after prompting the pace three wide without cover. He is a real dour type. Apache Pass had his chance after his one-off-the-rail run from better than midfield. Galaxy Witness ran on from towards the rear without ever looking a threat to the placegetters. It was his first run in two months, and judged on this effort, he looks better suited to turf than dirt. Everyone's Delight tamely faded after sharing the lead.
