Racing Incident Report
Race One: (646) - TATE'S CAIRN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
LE PLUS VITE jumped only fairly.
M M NEBULA was slow to begin, shifted out and made contact with the left side of its barrier.
M M NEBULA then shifted out further and bumped ACA POWER.
HANDSOME GUYS shifted out abruptly at the start, resulting in FINGERS CROSSED being crowded and taken out onto GLORIOUS LOVER which was checked when crowded to the inside of DASHING GENIUS.
LITTLE PLAYER hung out making the Home Turn.
Near the 50 Metres, FINGERS CROSSED was eased to avoid DASHING GENIUS which shifted in slightly.
After the race, L Ferraris (HAPPILY FRIENDS) reported that his mount hung out making the Home Turn.
Also after the race, B Avdulla (LUCK STAR) reported that with his mount coming back in distance for tonight's event, he was obliged to make use of LUCK STAR to hold a midfield position and as a consequence it was not able to finish the race off.
A veterinary inspection of LUCK STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SMART FOLKS and ACA POWER were sent for sampling.

Early favourite Smart Folks led and never looked back for an easy win in a class record time after straightening two lengths on top. He has been racing well on both surfaces since his 1,400m win in January. Post-time favourite Aca Power ran on from behind midfield to easily take second without threatening the winner. It was another honest performance on this track. Punted late, Starry Night stayed on for a placing after his prominent run one off the fence. If he remains in Class Five, he could win a race soon. Dashing Genius made good ground late to inject some value into the quartet. He is limited, but his previous best performance was a placing on this surface. Handsome Guys came up one-paced after getting posted wide chasing the speed. It was a typical performance, but he continues to be costly to follow. Glorious Lover ran on without menacing after showing no pace early in the race. The trip was too short for him. M M Nebula only plodded after his one-off-the-rail run from midfield. The return to the dirt failed to work the oracle following his turf fifth on his first start in the basement division.
