Racing Incident Report
Race Eleven: (645) - TULIP HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
MIGHTY STRIDE was bumped at the start by BEAUTY FIT which shifted in.
ENDEARED was slow to begin.
VIVA CHALEUR was crowded on jumping by AMAZING VICTORY which shifted in.
From wide barriers, NEVER TOO SOON and IVY LEAGUE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
MASTER TORNADO lost its left hind plate in the early stages.
Near the 800 Metres, BEAUTY FIT, which was racing keenly, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of MASTER TORNADO.
Passing the 500 Metres, BEAUTY FIT was steadied when it improved close to MASTER TORNADO which was commencing to give ground.
SEIZING THE MOMENT raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
When questioned regarding his riding and the performance of MIGHTY STRIDE, H Bowman stated that his instructions were to attempt to find running out wide where connections felt the ground was superior in the Home Straight.
He stated that after following CIRCUIT MIGHTY into the Straight, he shifted to that runner's outside to comply with his instructions, however, was prevented from continuing further out when racing to the inside of SEIZING THE MOMENT.
He added as a result his mount's momentum was halted for a short period near the 300 Metres whereby he was then able to shift back to the inside of MAJESTIC COLOUR to secure clear running.
He said throughout the event MIGHTY STRIDE had an inclination to lay in, particularly when under pressure in the Straight, and was not entirely comfortable on the rain-affected going.
A veterinary inspection of MIGHTY STRIDE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
When questioned regarding the performance of HYPER DRAGON BALL, Z Purton stated that he expected to take up a more forward position, but despite being ridden along in the early stages, HYPER DRAGON BALL did not show sufficient pace to do so.
He added that HYPER DRAGON BALL hung in for the majority of the event and, in his opinion, was also not comfortable on today's rain-affected going.
A veterinary inspection of HYPER DRAGON BALL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MIGHTY STRIDE, SEIZING THE MOMENT and AMAZING VICTORY were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:

Races 2 and 3 were each put back 5 minutes.

After the running of Race 2, the track classification was officially changed from "Good??to "Good to Yielding?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 2 being run on a track rated "Good to Yielding??

After the running of Race 3, the track classification was officially changed from "Good to Yielding??to "Soft?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

Following the running of Race 3, the Stewards received advice from a delegation of riders that they were experiencing issues in terms of visibility due to the race being conducted in heavy rain.
After considering the riders' advice and reviewing an updated weather forecast, the racemeeting was delayed by one race with the following race times notified: Race 4: 2:35 pm Race 5: 3:05 pm Race 6: 3:35 pm Race 7: 4:05 pm Race 8: 4:35 pm Race 9: 5:10 pm Race 10: 5:45 pm Race 11: 6:20 pm

Racing Laboratory tests of THETA HEDGE, TO INFINITY, HANG'S CHOICE, SNOWALOT, MELBOURNE HALL, STORMTROUPER, TELECOM SPEED, CHEONG FAT, INVINCIBLE MISSILE, ROMANTIC LAOS, CIRCUIT SEVEN, ACE TALENT, SUPER AXIOM, SATIRICAL GLORY, LA CITY BLANCHE, MAJESTIC VICTORY, SON PAK FU, HAMERON, HARMONY FIRE, HARMONY N BLESSED, SEASONS WIT, HARMONY AND RICH, HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE and ROCK YA HEART (26.4.23) proved negative.

Seizing The Moment won going away after hitting the front 250m out following a wide without cover run from midfield for an upset win at his first try over 1,400m. He did produce a better run last start. Amazing Victory ran on nicely to grab second after wide with cover run from behind midfield. He has been racing consistently well all season long. Beauty Fit came from towards the rear to add further value to the tierce. He relished a step up to 1,400m after returning off a break with a positive performance sprinting on dirt. Majestic Colour found a few too smart after assuming the lead passing the 400m chasing the leading pair one off the fence. It was another honest effort. Circuit Mighty rushed forward to lead one off at the 900m, then headed by a host of runners 400m out before finding a second win to claim fifth. Mighty Stride came up one paced after a handy run on the fence. He likely resented the wet ground.
