Racing Incident Report
Race One: (626) - CHESTER HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1800Meters
CLASSIC ARCHI was slow to begin and then was hampered when crowded between LOYAL AMBITION and MIGHTY STAR which shifted in.
From the outside barriers, OWNERS' STAR and AI ONE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From a wide barrier, CHARIZARD was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1000 Metres, LOYAL AMBITION was shifted out to commence a forward move and raced wide and without cover thereafter when unable to continue forward and cross to the lead.
Passing the 600 Metres, OWNERS' STAR was steadied when crowded for room between CHARIZARD which was racing tight to the inside of FORTUNE WINNER and MIGHTY STAR (C L Chau) which improved into tight running to the outside of HO HO JUNIOR as HO HO JUNIOR commenced to give ground.
C L Chau was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
HO HO JUNIOR was eased down passing the 600 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of HO HO JUNIOR immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and also found it to have bled from both nostrils.
Before being allowed to race again, HO HO JUNIOR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MIGHTY STAR was held up making the Home Turn and lay in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
Approaching the 150 Metres, CHARIZARD shifted out slightly and made contact with FORTUNE WINNER.
A veterinary inspection of CLASSIC ARCHI, HAPPY HERO, JOLLY HONOUR and OWNERS' STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
LOYAL AMBITION, AI ONE and HAPPY JAI JAI were sent for sampling.

Ai One whipped around the field from last to lead 500m out, and he kept finding for his first Hong Kong win on his 19th local start. He had put the writing on the wall over 2,200m last time out. Happy Jai Jai stayed on well for second after tracking the leaders one off the rail. If he remains in the grade, he could get away with a race soon. Mighty Star ran on nicely to finish a close third after his prominent run on the fence. It was the best effort of his 11-start career. Favourite Loyal Ambition plugged on one paced after going forward from behind midfield 1,000m out to sit third with 800m remaining. He performed all right carrying more weight following his last-start win. Charizard ran on from towards the rear without menacing. He rarely produces a bad run. Fortune Winner ran on steadily without threatening after his one-off-the-rail trip behind midfield. He is limited. Owners' Star got going late when the race was all but over. He has had a lot of racing this term. Despite his downgrade, Classic Archi never landed a blow after a wide trip towards the rear. Ho Ho Junior stopped 500m out with an apparent nose bleed.
