Favourite War Weapon came from last to win going away near the 200m for a first success at his 22nd start. He had been knocking on the door with placings in his past three starts. Darci Joy found one too smart after making his run one-out, one-back. He did win two runs ago. Young Victory ran on reasonably well to win a blanket finish for third from behind midfield. It was a pleasing first go over the 1,600m after winning two runs ago over the mile trip at the Valley. Forever Folks just missed a placing after getting held up early straight travelling behind midfield following a slow start. He had an excuse. Thunderboltaurus had his chance but peaked on his move from midfield 100m out. He continues to be costly. Looking Cool weakened over the last 100m out after getting pressured for the lead to his outside by Polymer Glorious. He's still searching for a bottom. Copartner Era ran on without menacing from near last. He's not racing well at the moment. Punted late The Hulk failed to respond when asked for more after a handy run along the fence. He struggled carrying more weight following a win at the Valley.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (600) - MOUNT BUTLER HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters

FOREVER FOLKS jumped only fairly.

YOUNG VICTORY and DARCI JOY bumped at the start.

From the outside barriers, WAR WEAPON and COPARTNER ERA were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

In the early stages, POLYMER GLORIOUS over-raced and refused to settle.

For a short distance near the 400 Metres, WAR WEAPON was held up for clear running behind YOUNG VICTORY.

From the 400 Metres until after the 300 Metres, FOREVER FOLKS was held up for clear running.

For a short distance again near the 150 Metres, FOREVER FOLKS was held up for clear running behind DARCI JOY when that runner shifted out under pressure.

Near the 350 Metres, POLYMER GLORIOUS was bumped by THE HULK when that runner shifted out to obtain clear running.

Near the 100 Metres, THUNDERBOLTAURUS was hampered when taken out by DARCI JOY which continued to shift out.

VANQUISHER was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

The performances of VANQUISHER and POLYMER GLORIOUS, both of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, VANQUISHER and POLYMER GLORIOUS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of VANQUISHER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of POLYMER GLORIOUS immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.

A veterinary inspection of THE HULK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

WAR WEAPON and DARCI JOY were sent for sampling.
