Recap by phillip woo

Early favourite Sixth Generation won with plenty in hand for his third win from his past four starts after hitting the front 200m out. He has been a revelation after joining the Jamie Richards yard this term, and he should be competitive up in grade with a light weight on his back. Helene Wisdom Star ran on well from the rear to fill the quinella spot. He relished his return to the C&D of his runner-up result two runs ago. Late-fancied favourite Perfect To Great stayed on well for third despite getting interfered with 250m out when trying to improve from towards the rear. He has been a good money spinner for connections this season. Blissful Star held his ground for fourth after travelling in the one-one spot. Chiu Chow Warrior could not lift his feet over the final 100m after dictating the run from gate one. He is a Class Five horse. Fearless Fire plodded when asked for more after his handy run wide without cover from gate 11. Strathpeffer got going late when the race was all but over after making his run one from the rear. He has shown flashes of ability in his six starts.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (595) - KING'S PARK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

TELECOM CHEETAH jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

FEARLESS FIRE also jumped awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, SPEEDSTAR shifted out, resulting in PERFECT TO GREAT, which jumped only fairly, being steadied to avoid SPEEDSTAR.

From the outside barrier, BORN THE SAME DAY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 1300 Metres, SUPER MAGIC was steadied when crowded between CHIU CHOW BROTHER which shifted out slightly and BLISSFUL STAR which was racing tight to the inside of SPEEDSTAR.

For some distance near the 600 Metres, PERFECT TO GREAT was steadied to avoid SUPER MAGIC (C L Chau) when that runner made the turn awkwardly and commenced to give ground.

After the race, C L Chau expressed concern regarding the action of SUPER MAGIC.

A veterinary inspection of SUPER MAGIC immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of SUPER MAGIC, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, SUPER MAGIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Near the 500 Metres, PEAK TO PEAK ran wide when being steadied away from FEARLESS FIRE.

PEAK TO PEAK was then held up making the Home Turn.

At the entrance to the Straight, SPEEDSTAR shifted in before being corrected by its rider, K H Chan.

As a result, PERFECT TO GREAT was momentarily crowded by SPEEDSTAR and then had difficulty securing clear running a short distance thereafter.

After the race, S De Sousa (PEAK TO PEAK) reported that after being slow to begin and then hampered by STRATHPEFFER which shifted in, PEAK TO PEAK settled back in the field, raced too keenly and was left without a finishing effort.

A veterinary inspection of PEAK TO PEAK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Also after the race, A Badel (TELECOM CHEETAH) reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily throughout the early and middle stages and after having some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight ran home only fairly and, in his opinion, was looking for additional distance.

A veterinary inspection of TELECOM CHEETAH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Following the race, SIXTH GENERATION was noted to have blood at its mouth.

PERFECT TO GREAT, SIXTH GENERATION and HELENE WISDOM STAR were sent for sampling.
