Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (581) - THE HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB COMMUNITY TROPHY (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1200Meters
BEATO jumped only fairly and was then bumped by VALIANT ELEGANCE which shifted out.
ENNEA FORTUNE was crowded on jumping between PULSAR STRIDER and NABOO LEGEND, both of which shifted ground.
On jumping, VICTORY MOMENTS was crowded by GOLDEN EXPRESS which shifted out.
EURO ROCKS jumped only fairly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the outside barriers, NICCONI COUNTY and DESERT STAR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1000 Metres, PULSAR STRIDER was steadied when crowded between GOLDEN EXPRESS which was racing tight to the inside of O'LINER (A Hamelin) and NABOO LEGEND which shifted out slightly.
A Hamelin was advised to exercise more care.
When questioned regarding his riding of ENNEA FORTUNE in the Straight, A Badel stated that when under pressure, his mount responded only fairly to his riding.
He said for this reason he was content to allow ENNEA FORTUNE to continue to improve along the rail whereby it made some ground in the early part of the Straight.
He added that inside the 200 Metres when positioned well behind VALIANT ELEGANCE, he was content to continue to improve behind that runner and to the inside of BEATO, however, when VALIANT ELEGANCE stopped quickly, this resulted in ENNEA FORTUNE becoming held up behind VALIANT ELEGANCE and to the inside of BEATO and then not being able to be ridden out for the remainder of the race.
A veterinary inspection of O'LINER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOLDEN EXPRESS and GOLDEN LINK were sent for sampling.

Odds-on favourite Golden Express won geared down after rushing to the lead 200m out from midfield for back-to-back wins despite top weight. He'll be in a higher grade next start but is clearly a horse heading places. Golden Link dashed well to grab second after making his run one off from behind midfield. He can produce a good run now and then. Victory Moments ran on nicely for third without threatening the top-two after making his run five back and one off the fence. He's building towards a win with thirds in his past two of four local runs. Euro Rocks made up heaps of ground late for fourth after biding his time three from the rear. It was another good effort after a second on his local debut last month. Nicconi County made headway late near the inside to finish next best ridden for luck second last from gate 11. Punted late Pulsar Strider just held his ground when asked for more after a handy run. He should be one to keep safe shortly in Class Four. Beato had his chance after a prominent run but was yielding ground near the 100m. The move to blinkers failed to work the oracle.
