Recap by phillip woo

One For All led from gate nine and never looked back to make it two wins on the trot following his step up to Happy Valley's 1,200m. He is racing well. Favourite Wood On Fire edged Island Surprise for second after his prominent run one off the fence. He was able to back up his last-start win carrying five pounds more than four weeks ago. Island Surprise just lost the battle for second after getting all the favours in the box seat. It was another honest performance. Telecom Speed made up heaps of ground late to fill the frame without threatening the top three after being ridden for luck from gate 12. He is building towards his next win following his downgrade. Punted late, Charming Steed just failed to get up for fourth after making his run one off the fence from midfield. He should be a force with whom to be reckoned in Class Five. Prime Mortar ran on steadily without threatening after his run wide without cover from behind midfield. He had an excuse, and his big weight did not help following his back-to-back wins. Spicy So Smart was yielding ground 100m out after his speed-stalking run. He remains a work in progress.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (571) - GLENEALY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

AMAZING TRAVIS and PRIME MORTAR jumped only fairly.

ABOVE ALL jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Shortly after the start, SEE U AGAIN was taken out by ONE FOR ALL and was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

From the outside barrier, TELECOM SPEED was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

NOBLE ACE was bumped shortly after the start by CHARMING STEED which shifted out.

NOBLE ACE then raced keenly in the early and middle stages and refused to settle and for some distance after the 900 Metres was checked away from the heels of CHARMING STEED.

TELECOM SPEED, which was following, was steadied to avoid the heels of NOBLE ACE near the 800 Metres.

WOOD ON FIRE lost its right front plate near the 1000 Metres.

When placed under pressure in the Straight, SPICY SO SMART lay in and near the 150 Metres was steadied away from ISLAND SURPRISE which shifted out slightly.

NOBLE ACE lay in in the Straight.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of C Wong (CHARMING STEED), 5th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.

After the race, K C Leung (PRIME MORTAR) reported that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and carrying top weight tonight was unable to finish the race off.

A veterinary inspection of PRIME MORTAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ONE FOR ALL and WOOD ON FIRE were sent for sampling.
