Race Seven: (518) - THE POLICE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1200Meters
GORGEOUS VITALITY jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
LUCKY FUN and ARMOUR EAGLE bumped at the start.
GOLDEN WARSTEED jumped awkwardly and then raced tight between CALIFORNIA CIBLE and ICE LEGEND.
GOLDEN WARSTEED was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From a wide barrier, ICE LEGEND was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the outside barrier, GALLANT CROWN was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages, however, raced wide and without cover until near the 550 Metres.
Near the 1050 Metres, TELECOM SPIRIT shifted in and brushed the running rail.
Near the 600 Metres, GOLDEN WARSTEED was steadied when crowded by LUCKY FUN which shifted in and away from GALLANT CROWN despite the efforts of its rider.
ARMOUR EAGLE raced keenly in the middle stages.
Approaching the 300 Metres, MAJESTIC KNIGHT shifted out, resulting in HERO STAR and STAR BRITE being taken wider.
K Teetan (LUCKY EIGHT) was warned in relation to raising his whip arm above shoulder height.
A veterinary inspection of GORGEOUS VITALITY and ICE LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
LUCKY EIGHT and MAJESTIC KNIGHT were sent for sampling.

Favourite Lucky Eight didn't go around a horse after travelling prominently on the fence to take control 50m out for a first win at his ninth start this term. He relished a return to the course and distance of placings in two of three starts. Punted late, Majestic Knight grudgingly gave way after clearing to the front 900m out from gate 11. He's racing very well without winning. Star Brite ran on steadily to finish a close third after chasing the leading pair with the claim well utilised. It was a better effort on his past few starts. California Cible made ground to finish next best from midfield. The switch to a senior rider failed to deliver the goods. Hero Star plodded over the last 150m after chasing the leader on the fence. It was one of his better runs in Class Three but he's a better horse in Class Four. Armour Eagle ran on without menacing after making his run one off from behind midfield. He's on his mark after a win three runs ago. Gorgeous Vitality made a mild bid after making his run behind midfield on the fence following a tardy start.
