Recap by phillip woo
Beluga took control 80m out after settling box seat to ring up a second win over 1,400m from five starts this term. He's as honest as the day is long. Top-rated Beauty Joy fired up to sit second 900m out, advanced to the front passing the 200m and found one too good in deep stretch. The 22-pound pull in the weights was the difference in the end. Blaze Warrior ran on steadily from near last in the seven-horse field to just take third. It was a better effort on his past two following a win. Early favourite Cordyceps Six had his chance after a prominent run but only plodded when asked for more. The experiment over 1,400m failed to pan out. Post-time favourite The Golden Scenery ran on to just miss the frame from midfield. He hasn't produced a bad run without winning in eight starts this term. Healthy Happy had no excuse after getting his own favours in front. He's not easy to get right despite a competitive weight on his back. Turin Redsun never got into the act from the rear with a tonne of money for him late in betting. He was returning to action off a 91-day break.
