Recap by phillip woo
Firming favourite Circuit Stellar never looked back after leading soon after the break from gate two to ring up a third career win and second over this trip from 19 starts. The riding change to Zac Purton worked the oracle. Winning Method just held off the late surge of California Ten for second after a box seat run. He rarely produces a bad run. California Ten came from last in the eight-horse field to just miss second by a bob of the heads. It was another fine effort with a step back to 1,400m after nearly saluting last start over 1,600m. Toronado Phantom ran on to finish next best without threatening the top three settling one from the rear. He went all right carrying a few pounds more over a longer trip following a win. Oriental Smoke was yielding ground 100m out after a pace-stalking run. He has hit his mark after winning three earlier times this season. Super Win Dragon never came on from towards the rear. He's a dirt horse. Ka Ying Master had his chance if good enough from midfield but failed to get the trip. Bourbonaire finished last after chasing the speed wide without cover.
