Plunged late in betting, Drombeg Banner led and kept finding to comfortably hold the raging favourite Sweet Encounter for an upset win at his second local start. He handled the rise in trip without a hitch with the claim well utilised. Sweet Encounter had his chance after getting a lovely run one off in midfield but found one better on the day. It was a good performance carrying 135 pounds. Sensationally-backed Satirical Glory kept on well for third after a pace-stalking run. It was a vastly-improved effort on his opening three runs but did trial well recently on the dirt. Viva Chaleur ran on steadily to fill the frame without threatening the top three after a rail run behind midfield. It was another positive performance carrying a share of top weight over a longer trip. Gallant Waking ran on well near the outside after a patient ride fourth last. It was an encouraging effort on return to Sha Tin after rock solid form at the Valley.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (317) - LUNG FU SHAN HANDICAP - Class 3R - 1600Meters

PACKING HURRICANE shifted out at the start and bumped SWEET ENCOUNTER which in turn shifted out, resulting in ATOMIC BEAUTY being crowded for room inside MAJESTIC COLOUR.

ATOMIC BEAUTY was then further crowded for room a short distance later between SWEET ENCOUNTER and MAJESTIC COLOUR which shifted in after being bumped by DROMBEG BANNER.

IVY LEAGUE began awkwardly, shifted in and brushed the hindquarters of EASON.

From wide barriers, VIVA CHALEUR, BON'S A PEARLA and GALLANT WAKING were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 1450 Metres, SWEET ENCOUNTER shifted out, resulting in MAJESTIC COLOUR being crowded for room inside THESIS which was bumped by MAJESTIC COLOUR.

After this, MAJESTIC COLOUR travelled keenly and passing the 1400 Metres got its head up when being checked away from the heels of SWEET ENCOUNTER.

MAJESTIC COLOUR then continued to over-race and was awkwardly placed behind SWEET ENCOUNTER for some distance.

Then passing the 1200 Metres, MAJESTIC COLOUR again got its head up when over-racing and in restricted room between SWEET ENCOUNTER and THESIS.

Passing the 1100 Metres, MAJESTIC COLOUR lost ground after becoming unbalanced when continuing to race tight between THESIS and SWEET ENCOUNTER, both of which shifted ground.

Then near the 850 Metres, MAJESTIC COLOUR was steadied away from the heels of SWEET ENCOUNTER.

IVY LEAGUE travelled keenly approaching and passing the 1100 Metres.

At the 1000 Metres, BON'S A PEARLA was awkwardly placed close to the heels of IVY LEAGUE.

BON'S A PEARLA had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and over the concluding stages was awkwardly placed outside the heels of VIVA CHALEUR and because of this was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.

Throughout the race, FIND MY LOVE travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of MAJESTIC COLOUR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

DROMBEG BANNER and SWEET ENCOUNTER were sent for sampling.
