Racing Incident Report
Race One: (188) - LAM TIN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
KOWLOON EAST STAR was withdrawn on 22.11.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FABULOUS EIGHT.
Before being allowed to race again, KOWLOON EAST STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MODEST GENTLEMAN began awkwardly and then lost ground when crowded for room between SPARKLING DOLPHIN and REGENT GLORY which shifted out.
HANDSOME REBEL shifted out at the start and inconvenienced SPEEDY FORTUNE.
COLOURFUL PRINCE was crowded for room shortly after the start between AMAZING ROCKY and FABULOUS EIGHT (H Bowman) which shifted in.
In this incident, AMAZING ROCKY became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by COLOURFUL PRINCE.
H Bowman was advised to make every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances.
From the outside barrier, SOO FRESH was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 850 Metres, TRUST ME raced in restricted room inside REGENT GLORY (M Chadwick) which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
After the race, M Chadwick reported that REGENT GLORY hung in throughout and raced greenly.
A veterinary inspection of REGENT GLORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, TRUST ME brushed the running rail and shifted out, resulting in MODEST GENTLEMAN being steadied when crowded for room between TRUST ME and COLOURFUL PRINCE which also shifted in.
Passing the 600 Metres, FABULOUS EIGHT was left racing wide and without cover.
MODEST GENTLEMAN was held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn.
Near the 250 Metres, SOO FRESH was shifted out away from the heels of SPARKLING DOLPHIN which was giving ground.
SOO FRESH then had some difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 150 Metres.
Near the 200 Metres, MODEST GENTLEMAN raced tight inside TRUST ME which was then directed out to prevent causing interference.
TRUST ME was then directed to the outside of COLOURFUL PRINCE approaching the 100 Metres.
Over the concluding stages, TRUST ME and SPEEDY FORTUNE raced tight.
A veterinary inspection of SPARKLING DOLPHIN immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in its trachea and also found the horse to have sustained a minor abrasion to the left knee.
HANDSOME REBEL, AMAZING ROCKY and CIRCUIT SEVEN were sent for sampling.

Amazing Rocky led from gate six, turned the final bend a length on top and kept on gamely to win. He relished returning to the course and distance of his only other win after knocking on the door in his opening two runs this season at Sha Tin. Punted late, Circuit Seven stayed on well to make it close in the end after working forward three deep to sit outside the leader from barrier 11. He is returning to form and appreciated the apprentice jockey's allowance. Even-money favourite Handsome Rebel had his chance but finished next best without menacing the top two after his box-seat run. It was another honest effort. Faribault held his ground after a prominent run. It was not a bad performance on his first start following knee surgery and joining Pierre Ng Pang-chi's stable. Colourful Prince ran on late near the outside to finish next best after a patient ride towards the rear from gate nine. He has been around the mark in three of his four starts this term and will be one to keep safe with Class Five looming. Veteran Fabulous Eight kept up a onepaced gallop after his handy run wide without cover from barrier 10. He had an excuse.
