Odds-on favourite Comet Splendido roared down the outside to just get the better of Majestic Victory after Zac Purton's patient ride. It was his first Hong Kong win on his fifth start in the city. He had been knocking on the door and the booking of the champion jockey worked the oracle. Majestic Victory was outdashed after his rail run in midfield. He proved a placing last month was not a fluke and he can get away with a race soon. Nothing New kept on gamely to just miss after poking his head in front 20m out following his pace-stalking run from his wide draw. It was a good effort second up despite top weight. Ensured came from last to fill the frame. It was a good performance off 206 days following his injury-induced absence. Golden Link came up one paced over the final 100m after having every chance in the box seat. Incanto Prepared made a steady bid late after travelling behind midfield on the fence. It was a better effort second up but he is still too high in the handicaps. Punted late, Bulletproof ran on without threatening after his one-off-the-fence trip worse than midfield. He appeared to need the outing in his first start in Class Three following his win in June.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (90) - THE HKEX CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1650Meters

KEEN UNITY shifted out at the start and bumped MY ECSTATIC.

ENSURED began awkwardly and was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

PRAGMATISM was steadied on jumping to obtain cover.

Also from the outside barrier, COMET SPLENDIDO was shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail.

Making the turn near the 550 Metres, PRAGMATISM got its head up when being checked away from the heels of INCANTO PREPARED which itself was awkwardly placed behind MAJESTIC VICTORY.

Passing the 300 Metres, BULLETPROOF raced tight outside KEEN UNITY which was taken out marginally by MAJESTIC VICTORY.

PRAGMATISM, which was following KEEN UNITY, was shifted in away from the heels of that horse in consequence.

PRAGMATISM was then shifted to the inside of INCANTO PREPARED passing the 100 Metres and then close to the finishing line was shifted in further away from the heels of MY ECSTATIC to obtain clear running.

COMET SPLENDIDO and MAJESTIC VICTORY were sent for sampling.
